Let's talk Northwoods

Chris, I think that is the nicest Bear Lake that I've ever seen!!! What a great first...or tenth :) Northwoods!! Good job showing it too. -James

I think I got the last stag Bear Lake,
Shock_, congrats on yours and those are great pics!

Thanks guys! I can't wait to take it on my first adventure in the U.P. I hope to acquire a Michigan and Broadway Jack in the future. And as long as I'm able to, at least one from all the new runs :)

Great thread! I love the Northwoods line and I am over the moon about the upcoming Hawthorne run. Been wanting one of those for a long time. My collection so far missing my dearly departed lost Burnside.

Ken It's gratifying to see that you enjoy using your knives, makes utter sense!

I absolutely LOVE the mark side grain of that mammoth Pres, Ken!

So maybe this wasn't a factory goof, but instead just a nod to the past Scagel cutouts. :D

That's a hole in the nail nick of my presidential. I just always assumed it was from putting the nick to high up where the swedge was to thin.

Very, very nice Derrick, great you could locate one!!! Those are one of most special Northwoods and it belongs in your collection. -James

Great photos of the Bear Lake. I almost passed on buying one, glad I picked up one in stag. Looking forward to getting a stag Hawthorne in the near future.

Derrick, I used to own that very one. It is fabulous! Such an incredible slicer. The S60V blade make it quite unique.

Thanks Will! I don't own any safe queens. I have a few that I hang on to for sentimental reasons, but generally, if I find if I don't bond with a knife after carrying it few times, I move it on.

Thanks Erik! It really is spectacular; I got lucky on this one!

Ken, that blue camel bone is terrific!

Thanks Jeff!

Beautiful knife Derrick!

Here are my two Willamette Whittlers. I love this version of the wonderful 38's from Bill and the fine folks at GEC! :D

I wonder if we will ever see a Northwoods GEC made lockback. I'm sitting here looking at my GEC 72 and found myself wondering what it would look like in black camel bone with an arrowhead shield...
