• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Let's talk Northwoods

I was able to grab a Kudu on my third try, sure wish you could go back and take a second look at the knife you bought. Guess I'll just have to wait until it shows up. They sure went fast!
I tried 2 or 3 Times to get one. Then when I went back to look they where all gone!

I've only ever bought micarta with Northwoods, but I really like the look of stag with the rustic blade so I snagged this one. I like the bit of orange in it. I was thinking about the Kudu but figured those would get snatched up quick, and I know I would have been picky about the look of it.

I was going to sit this round out but popped in for a look and really wanted one of those discounted factory second Kudus but they were gone in a flash -- this is probably why they threw in some Mammoth to make up for the defectives. I did grab a smoked burlap but fully expect to find the knife too big for my liking but I've never handled that scale material before and wanted to check it out -- not like I won't be able to unload it if I decide not to keep it.

I don't think you'll find it too big unless you like really small knives. I may be mistaken but I thought I read somewhere that these are 3 1/2 inches closed but look much larger in the pics.

What is Curaco burlap? I mean does Curaco refer to the manufacturer of the burlap? I've not seen that on a Northwoods folder before, but I may be mistaken. Looks much like the similar large weave burlap micartas they've used before.

Orangy-browny burlap?
