Life after Zero Tolerance

If your going to really use the knife, I would stay away from the 801. Jdavis has a video showing a cut test with this knife and it doesn't hold an edge at all. It dulls after just a few cuts. Zt has some "known" issues with there elmax. I have experienced similar results with my 0560 and 801. The s110v however on my 0560cbcf seems awesome. I recommend that if you will be using the knife for more than cutting paper.

Strider really makes a great blade and there heat treat is great. A sng in pd-1 or z-ware with drop point blade is a great edc option. Very ergonomic and holds an edge.

Hinderers seem to have come down in price in the secondary market. You could prolly score an 3.5 in for $500 or so from the right place. Great knife, perfect for edc and holds up well. They retain there value so you can always trade it or sell for something else down the road.

I guess I'm lucky. I have several 0560/0561, 0551, Speedform II and and 0801 all used quite a bit and I've not had any trouble with Elmax. I find it to be a good all-around steel. I guess I didn't have any expectations of it being magical so I suppose that's why I'm happy with it. :)

I guess it's hit or miss. My 801 doesn't hold an edge. I have two 0561's. One is great the other doesn't hold an edge. I love ZT's designs and the 801 is one of the if not the best production flipper I've used. Just wish it would stay sharp.

If you like manual flippers with great action and excellent materials and build you should definitely check out the Spyderco Southard and Domino flippers.

Definitely got my eye on the Southard. I generally prefer larger knives, so I will have to see about the Domino.

The 0801 is an awesome design, I have been very impressed with it and think it will be an awesome addition to the line. I never grow tired of flipping all the ZT's including the older stuff like the 0200 and 0300 series, they will always be impressive knives.

Those Dendras look great. I was surprised at how inexpensive they are for the quality of materials & design. It's always cool to see good stuff priced below 200 bucks.

Brous blades are insane! Beautiful stuff. That Division flipper looks like an amazing piece of work, also looks like it's tough to find.

I'm excited to get through all these suggestions, I've only gotten a chance to check out a few thus far. So much good stuff I've never heard of.

Brous Blades reloader , One of the best flippers MyI've ever had sold my 0560CBCf to get one,and do not miss it!
I saw one the other day for small money. Almost snapped it up. Read a few reviews and watched a couple of videos and THEN went to a site that listed the "HANDLE WIDTH." No way do I want that thing. I believe it was listed as 0.777" and the reviewers all called it a beast. The fattest knife I have (a gift from a son) is 0.640" and I'll never carry it, even though the blade-steel is superb. A damned brick. I would have kept the S110v and been delighted with it.
My personal viewpoint, obviously.

Of your two 561's, which one holds an edge better, the earlier or later serial number? Assuming their numbers are far apart.
