Like a phoenix? CSC is reborn...

Here are a few barlows. The Gold Dust being my favorite.

I always liked that gold dust handle. Not picking up one of the barlows when they were available is something I regret. I'm kinda holding out hope that the Co-op will release a boy's knife in that material.

are these new or old releases? I signed up for a mailing list and have yet to get a notification. I’d really like to check out their knives.

Joe

Hi Joe, these are old. There haven't been any new ones since the initial co-op release.

This thread needs a bump. This knife is a case of "right place at the right time". Its also something of a rescue. I was on an auction site looking for something unrelated when I typed Canal Street Cutlery in the search box on a whim. This lockback popped up with 1 bid of $29.99, 9 minutes to go and a few pics. Seller said it locked up tight and needed cleaning. It was obviously rough, but....it was a CSC, and cheap, and I didn't have one
Anyway got it for $31 shipped. It was seriously filthy. The shield is gone. There's a crack running through the handle where the shield should be. There's a couple of small chunks gone out of the handle. The blade is stained. It does, however, lock up tight. No play. I'd say carried a lot, used little. The blade is in good shape. No idea what the steel is. I think this it the "Pinch" model.
After cleaning and sharpening the action is very good. I've got myself a CSC carry knife on the cheap :D None of this "its too pretty to carry" stuff for this one :p
Good knife. Approximately 3.75" closed.

Nice find, Mike! Here's what it looked like new, along with some information. My wife got this one for me as a Christmas present in 2013.

Thanks Peregrin!
Yours is a lot prettier :)
"Ribbon Candy Mica Pearl" Never would have guessed that :p
I wonder if mine has D2.

I'll bet it is, Mike. Mine also has a serial number engraved on the Mark side bolster. It's not very deep though.

My latest family photo...some newer some older.

The trouble with these family photos is that I have to retake them every time I get a new knife! Between the CSC's and tortoise shells, I can't keep up :)

I am hoping to see something from CSC/Red Hill soon but haven't heard anything on that front. Anything interesting to report @ea42 ? :)

Mine's #358.

Forgot to mention that the blade is perfectly centered.

Just confirmed mine is marked #464, as written on the box. Very cool! Yours must be D2. Canal Street used it quite a bit, if I'm remembering correctly.
Mine gets carried at Christmas time. The F&F, W&T are all great. Pinches open, just like the name implies!:D

Cool that its D2. I have a couple of Queen/Schatt & Morgans that have D2, but none of them have been users so far. It'll be interesting to use this one.

I have only seen the pinch knives in D2 and some in 1095 branded for Moore Maker. Looks like D2 to me based on the way it has taken patina.

Pretty sure that was an AG Russell SFO.

A few years ago, CSC did the forum knife. This is one of the prototypes. The forum knife ultimately had wood handles without bolsters. Also the sheepfoot's nail nick was on the opposite side from this one. That would be a better design in my opinion because then the secondary could ride lower. Not sure if the forum knife's sheepfoot did ride lower, but if it didn't, it shoulda oughta.
This one is elk with bolsters and is the only one like it ever made. It was never a production knife. The steel is 440c. Being a prototype, its not quite up to CSC's usual standards in that it has some blade play on both blades. Excellent snap and walk and talk though. Really quite a handsome knife and only elk handled knife I own.
