The ESEE 6 is a really great blade. If you can find scales you like for it, I'd hang onto it.

If you don't want to put money into scales, PM me. I have a trade you might like.
 
score: local dump/depot has a "still good stuff shed"; including books! scored almost all of Tom Brown's stuff :D moo hah hah.

Anyone who asked for shock cord, it's headed out tomorrow morning. Kept forgetting to grab envelopes to mail it in.

So, I've got my new Becker Bag (5.11 Rush 10 MOAB with Helga strapped to it), my new Rat 1 (I love this thing!), and now I found a place to put my BK&T/KA-BAR patch (as well as finally having a BK&T/KA-BAR hat). I will get pictures of all of these this weekend (Scottish Highland Games district camp-o-ree, Boy Scouts), and post them Sunday night or Monday afternoon (when I wake up).

So, who likes what brand of cold blue? I decided Helga and Becca need to be blued now because they have some REALLY nice look pits (nothing deep, just nice and dark).

Glad to hear you like it man, but still, POIDH :) It does lock up rock solid, great blade. I used mine for like 8 months hard before it finally developed a bit of wiggle, so I tightened it up and back to rock solid going on a few months now. Enjoy in good health.

I'm starting to wonder if Helga has more wiggle than the Rat does...

I contemplated stabbing myself in the arm to quench it's thirst early, but I decided it's more meaning full when my blades pick their target. I just hope this one don't pick what Becca missed..... I do want children at some point! :eek:
 
Speaking of RAT-1s I went to look at an online retailer we have here and from $45 originally they've now jumped to $70...WTF :mad:! Wish this place would keep its prices the same...

oX, what color RAT did you get?

Also if you guys didnt know, its illegal to import them here...I can import an 18" machete but not a "little" Rat-1...Aussie customs logic :rolleyes:...

I would feel bad for you but I saw your Mini BK-9 thread and the jealousy hasn't subsided yet.
 
I got black, mostly because it's my favorite color. Almost tempted to get it done in multicam, but I'll wait till the coating wears out and the handle starts looking badly faded. So probably 20-30 yrs.

How do you like the handles btw? I know you were concerned as you're not a fan of that material.
 
It's great actually. My biggest problem is "Nylon 6" is so very descriptive. I was looking at the "G10" ones because I know what the material is, well, I would if the ones labeled as G10 were actually G10.

I was utterly surprised at the size of it. The only thing I could have wanted more would be a nice clip point, but there are a lot of folding clip point styles I don't like.

I did notice that the clip is very loose and very short. This makes it ideal for conceal carry on my boots. Now, while I hate boot knives, if I have to conceal it for whatever reason, I like my boots.

I also have a lot of paper shreds to clean up now... I'm not even sure I could make it as sharp as it came with my worksharp....

Hmm, your clip is loose? Mine was nice and tight. You might wanna take a torx driver to those screws, better if it starts tight and works to how you like it (with the very occasional re-tightening). Maybe just my preference.
