LIONSTEEL CAPLIFTER BARLOW

Has anyone lifted a cap with the caplifter yet? I’m wondering how well it functions.

Mine is very slowly making it's way to my house, should be there tomorrow but I won't be until Sunday. I chose the ram horn option.

I am also wondering how well it lifts the caps. The LionSteel Jack works really well (comfortable in hand also) but I noticed the caplifter is shaped a little differently. Also knifeswapper knifeswapper I really wish there was an Olive Wood option! I may have to get a second one and make my own. Is the clip version coming next year?! I'm in for one for sure!

Ram horn just arrived. Group pic first:

very pleased with the mark and pile consistency.

Fit and finish on my example is “good”. Horn is proud on one side and sunken (slightly) on the other.

Thickness compare with a Roundhead:

Overall a very well executed “Tradern” (traditional/modern?) beerlow. We’ll done Mike:thumbsup:

*Off topic*. “Tradern” or “Modernonal”? Talk amongst yerselves.

This is the variant I ordered (olive wood) tracking says it will be here on Tuesday. I go back to my floating home on Wednesday, can’t wait (for the knife). Pics of knives just cause they are next to meimage.jpg

Got my ebony Beerlow yesterday:

And for comparison purposes here it is next to a NF 77 Barlow, also in ebony

Really nice knife with great walk and talk. The ebony has a little more rustic finish than I was expecting, but that may grow on me. The only thing that is slightly disappointing is the hairline crack at the rear screw (see below), but it doesn’t bother me enough to return the knife. Definitely a knife I’ll use. Now it’s time to find a beverage to try the cap lifter!

So there was an olive wood variant?! I had mine on early reserve and it wasn't an option there. I don't see it on the website either. Now I'm a little bummed. I like ram horn but I already have the other versions with that cover.

Looks good but what a bummer on the crack!! I would have requested a replacement. At least the covers are easily replaceable though

I didn’t get the Barlow/beerlow knife, I got the lionsteel cap lifter with the tapered stern. Apologize about the confusion

Can't blame you there! You must have a nice collection of CK Lionsteel barlows to have that many cover options! Are the jigged bone covers custom made? I don't think I have seen that option before.
Got a couple of shufflers, a dom, a warhorse, now the beerlow, my son has a couple of roundheads, Yes, a good buddy of mine made an extra set that he gifted to me, I will end up putting those covers on the beerlow since it will get used quite a bit😀

I have a roundhead, a dom and a warhorse, and gifted another roundhead to a friend, so the caplifter will be my 5th CK01. The action on these is so smooth and snappy, I really like them.

Mine sat at my local Post Office from 4 am on on Saturday, so they should be good to go to deliver Monday.

Hey, stupid (hopefully) question: the caplifter is M390 too, right?

I'm guessing that it's not because it really doesn't need to be, but would rather be wrong.
