Hey Daniel, what are the 2 sets on the right? The ones that look like stone,

They are Black/White composite with blue glow. (not sure exactly what, I think the black is carbon fiber) It is from Shadetree Composites. It is ground to 40 grit in the photo so it looks way different when finished.

Speaking of stone I have more stone slabs than scale material actually, it is tough to drill but I have shaped tons...

That 15n20 dashi spoken for?

It is but I am doing a dashi signup right now http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/982893-More-kiridashis!!

I can order some 15n20 along with the other steel, let me know if you want one. Thanks!

Last night... cleaning etchant off of Titanium with water, the hooks are Titanium ones I made to survive the etch/ano process. This is the final cleaning after a 10 step prep process for anodizing.

Right now! I'm etching some keychain tools while I wait for my oven to heat up, kydex molding is next.

That's 4 sheath molds in the background with my kydex on top.

Daniel,,can you save some of that sweet yellow sunburst for a thick frame lock? If all gone where can i buy some to send to ya? I do love the krypto green you have too. do you make your own?

Available?
Yes!

I am gluing it up today with some black micarta scales. Just let me know and we can work something out.

Yes, I think it will work and I can get more I think. It is old material and comes in random thickness, steep stuff but as cool as it gets in my opinion. I had to do an order with it a while back and am a huge fan of it now.

The only extra S7 poon I am making will get that material... Antique Ivory Micarta. I want to high polish the steel, with the ivory look it will be like an old pistol or something.

I make a lot of my own scale material but the Krypto is from Shadetree Custom Composites... long story short I'm hoping to get some more.

I may make some scales soon, I really hope to find the time. I have a quarter pound of the best glow powder on the market.

LIVE... from the heat treating shop

These keychain tools in the stainless packet I'm showing have been in sub zero treatment all night. I do this after a snap temper, the treatment reduces retained austenite. Stronger tools at higher HRC!

This works especially well with the D2 I am using, a lot of steels do not respond to the treatment. The sub zero is essentially an extension of the quench with D2, the point where the steel transforms. Cryo is a bit different at -300F, I am going to roughy -100F.

Check the vapor descending, it looks like spiderwebs!

Here is my sub-zero setup! I have a stainless container bedded in insulation... I fill up that container with a dry ice/alcohol slurry, put in the knives or tools, more plastic then insulation... it all goes in the thick styrofoam cooler. I can keep dry ice in this setup overnight with no visible melting!

I like the fact that the Mountain Lion piss is actually distilled.....

Thank you for sharing this!
Much appreciated!

Hey that's why I live on the mountain... mountain lions and moonshining!

I didn't mean to post that photo, that distilled mountain lion urine is a key component in my heat treat. Oh well, they will never reverse engineer my secret formula! :D

Flaring some tube... this takes a while as the tube and flats have to be brought up to a scotchbrite finish and lightly chamfered
