[/ Well not a casualty but I have tried 3 times now and I have decided it won't get straight. I'll make you another one. QUOTE]

Surface grinder!! :p

:D One is high on the list! I spent an entire day just grinding/finishing the flats on the S7 batch and that is very typical. The time savings would be incredible! I hear if you look old ones are not too pricey.

The funny thing is that with that knife I can grind it flat no problem, in fact that is one way it warped! The first time I heat treated it a swift wind picked up right when I pulled it out of the kiln, I actually watched it warp from the breeze. No problem as that is part of knifemaking so I straightened and re heat treated it successfully. It sat for a few days and then I ground the flats, after one side was ground the warp came right back! After heat treat, now that is odd to me. I straightned it but was not happy so I again re heat treated it to no avail! I have never had this happen before but I hear some 15n20 comes rolled, (huge bandsaw material) maybe it just wanted to go back!

You got me, thin stuff can be a real pain. We heat treat and then surface grind the thin slitting saws we make.

Wow, you make saw blades! Cool... Salt bath HT?

I just finished these up, that is a lot of kydex! I used a 2x4' sheet all the way up.

Well, not saw blades like you think. The correct name is Disc Mills. Something like in this video. But the ones I was talking about are thiner than the ones in the video.

Yeah, that's a 3 axis machine. If for some strange reason you are every in my area, I'll give you a tour. The 5 axis machines are a trip to watch.

It's getting dark early! Check this odd ring around the moon, my camera can't really capture it but the effect is wild!
