Ha, that's funny. I call "on purpose" too. [emoji16]. Be careful joining a family with the "what's mine is mine, what's yours is mine" attitude.
I once gave a 770CF to my daughter's boyfriend for his bday. About a week later he lost it. My girl said he was too embarrassed to even tell me he had lost it. And they had spent many many hours looking for it for weeks. I was close to just buying him another, but didn't. There would be more gift opportunities in the future.
Then about six months later we were all out for another daughter's bday. My MIL at the far end of the table pulls a knife out of her purse and goes to work hacking at her steak (grinding away on a restaurant porcelain plate). I noticed the boyfriend's face go white, jaw drops, as he stares at the Grandma.
I look over and see her grinding away with that 770, including the leather lanyard and bead that I helped him wrap. By now, EVERYONE in the family sees the big elephant at "Outback". She says "I don't know where I got this knife, but it's the best steak knife I've ever had." Mom forfeited "Her" favorite knife right then.
It seriously needed a full re-profile sharpening, which I gave it. And the boyfriend is a little more cautious checking his pockets when the grandma calls him for a "favor" or help around the house.
