Living nightmare.

I got this.

I get to use my knife; no one else does.

I'd just eat all the steak, lobster or whatever other food he thought was reserved for him.
Use my stuff, you lose yours. :)

I agree. Most good ole boys are harmless. Why I said guns didn't scare me . It's almost like you'd be tarnished or less of a man around here if you used a gun in a fair fight. Not praising violence just saying how it his here.

Take it like this too. If he felt comfortable enough to grab your tool and use it then seems like he trusts you.

Another note about good ole boys is they may be a little hardcore or set in their ways what have you. You ever need one for something though they'll be there in a heartbeat for you.

Amen. Call one in the middle of the night sometime, broke down on the side of the road. See if they don't come rollin' up. (If they're not too schnockered to drive... But even then they'll show. They'll just have the ol lady drive.)

Bonus points for the old lady reference. Some people don't get it and think I'm disrespecting my wife when I say the ole lady.

Got something broke you have no idea how to fix? My buddies ain't never fixed one either but damn it come on over and I bet you in a couple hours whatevers broke will be working some way or the other . With unusual tools to fix it too. Duct tape , Jb weld , and or a wire coat hanger can fix dang near anything .

Had a pipe burst in the old house and had to go to work at 330 am. Called 2 buddies at 10 o'clock at night. They told me to go to bad they had this. Woke up at 3 am and they had knocked the wall out ,found the leak, fixed it , measured the new sheet rock and we're sitting on the couch napping waiting on me to go to work and not to wake my daughter . Got off and bathroom was fixed and they were painting it. Insaid what do I owe yall? Nothing man just answer the phone next time we need something.

Sorry for off topic just don't want people gettin a bad image of southerners after my nipple bite story.

This is only a test. Bring the knife back razor sharp and let him beat it again, unless you want to go back to beating it.

Lol

It does way more than open letters. It push cuts the letter open. Sheesh.

Hells ya

I wonder if the dad is on here?

Me too.

long ass funny story

Thanks for sharing.

Father in law was a member here...He's tied up in a basement somewhere. Or father in law went looking for that knife again and saw this thread on his phone, where still he's tied up in a basement somewhere

"Living Nightmares":
1) Homeless, living on the street, with a wife and children.

2) Spending decades behind bars for a crime you did not do. ( or worse, being executed for a crime you did not do.)

3) Being an active participant in any war zone.

4) Politicians of both major parties (USA)

5) Lost at sea - in a sinking boat.

There are, of course, more, but I'll stop now.

6) Somebody hard used your hard use knife. :,(

Can we get some hard use pics going? Blues where you at with the $500+ knife nicks.

Haha no problem. I think it's solid tho. I'm not for sure but the black mark is some glue or something stuck on the brass. The other side.

Oh ok, I had been positive it was solid brass for a lot of years... It sure looked like a big chip of brass plating missing in that picture though. I'm glad to know it really is solid brass.

I had one in the late 80's that was so chewed up I thought I had known it was solid for sure. I thought maybe they started plating them instead here lately.

this was exactly my thoughts... western problems right? paris bombings... living nightmare, finding your wife with your father ...living nightmare, anything that happens in one of the "taken" movies ...living nightmare. your "issue"? there is a possibility that you might be overreacting to some minor scratching and dulling of what most people would consider a tool. pretty as it might be, if you were going to use it, it will eventually get scratched.

my advice you ask? buy her old man a knife of his own or carry one that you won't worry so much about next time youre around him.

All of these living knifemares could be solved had you just kept it in your pants! The knife I mean. It would be like if I brought 2 pair of expensive Oakley sunglasses over to visit my nephews then got mad if they put fingerprints on the lenses. Then made an internet post about it, admitted to leaving them lying around in mixed company, then titled it "Living nightmare" instead of just cleaning off the fingerprints. (or sharpening the knife)

This gets worse every day you leave it running bro.

Hell yeah, ZT's in general are made to be used hard (although maybe not as much with the 0450).
I've batoned firewood with my 0560 and most of the scratches and chips in the edge are from when I lent it to my dad to cut fiberglass.

image_zpsvilimver.jpeg

Nice! The only way an 0560/0561 will cut is with a higher edge angle like yours LOL! The edges are too steep and too thick behind the edge from the factory IMHO; way more than an 0550, 0350 or 0300 even...

Mine has a relatively high convex edge and it still needs to be taken higher up (high edge angle) to cut the way I want it to... I find it easier to resharpen a thinner edge too for whatever reason.:thumbup:

My current 0561, this pic makes it look pristine LOL but it's far from it.

Anyway; edges can be resharpened and scratches happen so deal with it. ;):foot: Unless you're carrying it just for show I guess.:thumbdn:

"Lightly" used blades... :D:thumbup:

The ZT from my pic earlier, in "use" LOL, so yeah I beat a $200.00 knife like I'm mad at it with 2 1/2 pound engineer's sledge LOL. The second big chopper that cut the three sections of pipe all at once was $600.00; buy em and use em IMHO. ;):D:foot::rolleyes::thumbup:

He was probably just testing you to see if you'd be a man and tell him to ask you before using your tools. Instead you didn't say anything and started a thread on the Internet titled "Living Nightmare".

Better hope she doesn't read this...
