Location info sent! 1st Connecticut Wilderness Skills Gathering, April 26-27, 2008!

Wow, this sounds great. Im in Westchester, NY it said I was about an hour away. If I can get off of work I'm definately down to come and camp out the two nights. Theres a small chance I may be attending a knife making workshop... But I definately want to attend.

I can't commit myself yet, BUT, hopefully I'll be able to get in one this gathering. :)

I'm supposed to be in a cabin in the pocconos that week but if I can talk the wife into coming back a little early, I'd love to come and maybe bring a friend as well... I let you know for sure before the week is out.

Cool RescueRiley - I knew you were right in NYC and was hoping you might make it up!

Looking very good that I may be attending with Sgt Art. Great timing because I want to get into this stuff with my son who is 8. He was just gifted a D2 RAT 3. I have great skill for hunting Mookie and Peanut in the hood but need some more primitive skills. No easier way that learning first hand from the experts. Who knows, maybe I will have something to share as well.

I'm going to try and make it up there if I can get a buddy of mine to come up. It sounds like it's going to be a good time.

Official countdown to this event is now 51 days until the rendezvous. Looks like we are going to have a great turnout for this event (I hope!) If anyone has any questions about what gear to bring, stay posted as I'll make sure to add a list of recommended gear for the fire clinic as well as what will be needed for the day and overnight if desired.

I want to make sure everyone gets to leave the event with not only knowledge but some basic firestarting equipment including a bow drill set. I'll see about availability of good wood for creating your own.

need a week or two to find out what i'm doing the last week of april. sounds like a great time.
