Location info sent! 1st Connecticut Wilderness Skills Gathering, April 26-27, 2008!

Brian Looks like I'll defintely be there...I'll be coming from a PA vacation the day before, so I'm not sure if I'll get there sat or sun..Will I miss all the fun if I get there Sun? Also I'm a bowdrill virgin..be gentle with me.

You will not miss the fun, RR. Both days will be filed with info and fun. Email us at the address we gave in the OP, and we can keep you in the headcount and the loop. looking forward to seeing you!

Tomorrow a.m., I'm going to collect much poplar and cedar for fireboards and spindles here in CT. WhooHoo! My friend's friend has a bunch of cedars and poplars, with lots of dry standing deadwood. How can I not go grab all that?

Brian/Kevin,

It looks like I will be there also, minus any unforeseen circumstances, both days. Looking forward to meeting you guys and getting out camping and doing some exercises.

kr,

That's great news! Have you sent an email to us already?

For inspiration, here's a pic of Kevin Estela demonstrating proper bowdrill technique (pic lifted from CanDo's Klippe wiki):

Here's a picture of Marty, Kevin, and some other people at the last gathering. They told me these uniforms are required garb for all attending the CT GTG. ;) :D

Hey Brian,
That last girl in the photo, the one on the right has been looking for you for quite a while. She says that she is not happy with the little gift you gave her and her belly is getting bigger.
She wants you to do the right thing by her.

LMAO! :D:D:D:D

Judging by what she's holding, she doesn't need a boyfriend.:cool:

I spoke with Greg Haugh of Lonerider Grips and he said he will most likely be in attendance with plenty of finished Fallknivens in both micartas and exotic woods. He'll also have a big selection of 1911 custom grips too. Here's a chance to meet the guy behind so many of the beauties I've posted here.

Looks like I will probably be able to attend at least for a day (just sent an email)

Brian,
No problems on that costume here, I already got a similar one that I'll make sure to wear.
j/k :D:D

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

I'm very interested in attending. I'll be just back from Disneyworld (so I'll need a vacation :) )

Sam

Hi Brian,

I would love to attend, but I am not what you would consider a seasoned woodsman. Other than a week long survival course I did 9 years ago when I was in the Air Force and my love for the outdoors I ampretty inexperienced. I would love to give my new RC-3 A work out though. Also I thought I saw a lake in one of your photographs, so I 'll catch dinner. So would ya mind if I tagged along.

Tonym,
Brian is away right now so I'm sure he won't mind my answering for him. You're welcome to join us, just be sure to send that e-mail.

On a side note, looks like my trade bin is going to be full of fun. I'll have a Strider MFS with CSM sheath, Mission MPS with G10, Filson XL Cape Coat, SAK's, gun parts/accessories and much more. Make sure to bring your's guys and gals. Part of the fun is the swap meet.

Kev, Marty going to try Veery hard to make it. Will shoot you a E as soon as I can be sure. I just might pop in :)

Fernando,

I really hope you can make it. I think there would be a lot of guys that will be amazed and educated by your preparedness and know how. I know I always learn something new from you at each rendezvous.
