Good to see you got it looked after well.
Personally, I treat every folder like it is a slip joint, no matter what the lock is. It doesn't only keeps you safe with non locking knives, but with locking knives to.

OP bro - almost identical to mine but it was on the different hand and with a dearly ZT. Also drove to the er myself and had five stitches.

Was total and complete lock failure. No debris or other possible problems for the occurrence. I liked it due to light weight locking and relatively disposable expense wise. Yes easily repeatable but also does still lock just not with any strength. Wasn’t totally the knife fault was using not the way intended but still axis or compression wouldn’t have failed. Live and learn right? I guess I was still relatively lucky

I did 8 total was on duty on an ambulance lol. Bandaged it myself and drove straight to er.

At least you won’t get in crap from your boss for getting blood in your work vehicle.

Glad you didn’t do any major damage. Could have been a lot worse.

Last week at work I had my 0450 out, and went to close it when it slipped out of my hand. Just out of instinct I went to grab it with my other hand and stabbed myself in the palm by the base of my thumb. Luckily it only went in about an 1/8" or so. Next time I'll just let it drop and get a warranty replacement blade if I have to

Just tell them that's how you know I'm a knife guy, nice clean cut with some stitches. A non knife guy just can't get it that sharp to do that.
