long, light, slim, easy to carr folding knife for edc and food prep mainly?

Endura. Light. Slim. Long blade. Cuts up food great for my daughter when we are out. She is 1 so she finds it a little big for her hands but i like it.

If you wanna go inexpensive, but OHO and locking, I still recommend the next slicers...

My experience with outdoor food prep is that I like the knife I'm using to mimic a kitchen knife as much as possible in the presentation of the blade to the cutting surface. That is, I want the blade to extend past my knuckles and any extensions of the handle. The way a chef's knife does. The Corsica, above, does this. Most folders do not, however. This means even my Opinels (and even the one I suggested, above), are only cutting with the front of the blade while my knuckles are striking the cutting surface. Does this make sense without a picture? Well, anyway, the only way I've found around this problem is a fixed blade that has a broader blade so that I have my hand in a more recessed position. Like a Gaucho knife (which looks like a kind of kitchen knife, as do many of the colonial designs coming from Iberia), a belduque, or even a swept skinner. The BK-15 comes close to this, too. But not quite, with the guard just abaft the choil.

Now, after a bit of due diligence (which I ought to have done before my first answer):

I would recommend the Cold Steel Broken Skull. 4 inch blade, 3.1oz and it's even thinner than an Endura. It can't get much slimmer than that.

Yeah, I second the B.Skull, excellent folder (best off 2016 IMO)

Most dealers have a nice price on it, and many different color options.
Give it a try!

For me it's the Spyderco Military and the Case slimline trapper.I prefer the Spyderco in most situations.

You guys are going to get me to order a Boker Urban Trapper . . . just when I swore off buying one. Not that it is bad, no, it’s great. It’s just that I want the Ti and it has, sigh, more round holes.

have Opinel already,is there something similar, and slimmer?

You want Slim ? I got slim for you . . .
someone else mentioned a melon knife but here's a pic

blade dude,

Xl espada

I can see my “slightly” sarcastic style has had an unfortunate and unintended influence on you . . .

I like it !

Shun personal folding steak knife.

That’s a cool one. I almost pulled the trigger on that one a couple times. Then the Lucky came out and I decided, for me, a serrated blade for restaurant use might be the way to go so I got a Lucky instead.

Spyderco Military

Now you are freek’in talking ! I love my Hold Out I for said food prep.

Vicarious Reality,

A folding knife for food? Seriously?

for him and anyone else reading this :
DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME ! W E _ A R E _ P RO F E S S I O N A L S.
extreme bodily injury or death may result.

No seriously I hear what you are saying but the OP wants a pocket knife not a sheath knife I suppose .

I am carrying benchmade 530,untill I get al mar eagle light.Traditional pattada may be an option too, with horn handle:).

I will second/third/fourth the boker urban trapper, whichever flavor you like.
Since the OP did not include a price range...

how about a zinker fruit knife? This a custom from the designer of the urban trapper, and fits the OPs request even better. $400ish range.

Another count for the urban trapper, though I prefer the plain, stock Ti model.

Thin and slicey vg10 with Ti scales. No wood to dent/ding and can be completely washed down without fear of anything damaging the scales.

On top of that, I know where to get one for pretty cheap...

I stayed away from the Ti urban trapper because of the holes (as has been mentioned). I gave in and got one; doggone if that shiny blade doesn't look great through those holes. Another vote for the urban trapper.
