Just to be clear, I'm not casting stones around. There are certainly times when I read things too fast or incompletely and then forget what I did manage to read... :o :D

I could not be happier.

Did give it a drop of oil right out of the box though.
To me, thats not a bad thing at all.
Smoothed out after 1st couple days of use.

One to use + a back up.
The user will get drilled and tapped for tip up carry.
Just looking for 'just' the right clip. :D

Am 100% sure Sal will take care of any real issues anyone might have.
Thats part of the warm fuzzy you get from buying a Spyderco!

Received mine last week... Went right in the pocket and stayed there for the next day or so.

I love it, it has taken the place of the CF-S90V in the EDC rotation for the time being. Yeah it is heavier, but I am not worried about weight when I carry one of my Millies.

So far no regrets in purchasing.

Hmmm... With all this cry of happiness and pure love, according to poll - over 12% are disappointed (10/68 at this moment)! I think in a such poll it is quite a lot. Also it looks like they are not willing to raise their voice here, I am wondering why? To me even 10 people is too much, I guess Spyderco should after all start paying attention to those who are not happy.

This is people who pay upfront and will to wait, this is not some random crowd. If those are disappointed - this is alarming.

Thanks, Vassili.

Guess you didn't get one?
You should try one!

Some folks are never happy. Facts of life......
They can sell theirs & make $75-$100
No harm in that? :jerkit:

Sorry, just getting tired of the negativity for a 4" M4 made in the USA $200.00 knife......

I like mine. That's actually saying alot because I'm not really a fan of the Military to begin with, but I'm a sucker for Ti framelocks, G-10, and super steel. The only thing I'm changing is the clip. Sending it out tomorrow for a custom clip to be made and attached. Tip up of course. :D

Well, I tested CPM M4 on Mule before this run was announced and there are a lot of much cheaper carbon steels which performs better then this over-promoted hype-steel. So I did not even think to participate really.

And 11 disappointed now. I do not think you may label so many enthusiasts as a "Some folks who are never happy". It more like people who know what they want from knife ws fanboys who do not care. Keeping this in mind - I would say this is another disappointing news from Spyderco.

Thanks, Vassili.

The people who said they don't like it should a picture and describe what exactly went wrong.

I don't believe there are any serious issues that warrants a rant

I'll post more here tomorrow when I receive mine.

very satisfied. In fact, I just now noticed the only thing wrong with it tonight, which is not a remotely big deal. But the edge grind is uneven at the tip. I guess it's just more that the bevel gets a teeny bit more obtuse on one side, whereas it stays even all the way down the other side.

Inconsequential, as anything but complete and utter disdain for this knife relegates you to "fanboy" status...apparently.;)

the problem is that many people are dissatisfied even though they got exactly what was promised. Just like I'm sure there are plenty of people who would not be satisfied with their Sebenza as an EDC over other, lesser quality knives. They are voting on personal taste, and not quality.

For instance, I was almost expecting to not like this knife. I had never handled a Military before, and I like smaller knives usually. I figured the ti/framelock might just be too heavy, and the overall knife too long. And even this was true, and I hated it, I couldn't in good conscience vote "dissatisfied" on this poll, because the knife is an absolutely phenomenal specimen of a production knife. Of course, I love it and it's been in my EDC pocket since. Not my work EDC, though, would get too banged around....

I would be really surprised if all of the disappointed votes on this thread were because of problems with the knife's fit and finish, or downright faulty mechanics. The only things I've really heard about are blade not centered (which is usually fixable, and not really even a problem unless it is very severe), gritty opening (which affects many high end knives when new), and uneven edge bevels, which really aren't that bad.

Why dont you go grind your axe somewhere else? Its very obvious you have an anti-Spyderco agenda. It's really pretty sad dude.

Ok let me say this first b4 i get flamed. I like m4 millie and think it's awesome. i complained about the grind on mine and i still feel a 220$ knife should come sharp and with a nice grind. i still feel the base of my edge was ground back too much i could be wrong and it's not a deal break but still my opinion.

all of that aside it;s still a 220$ knife. so even if it doesn't come perfect it should be near perfect.
yes most problems people posted about the knife not being what they expected have nothing to do with the fit and finish and to be honest really shouldn't complain. they wanted a ti millie with m4 steel and that is just what they got... spydero even gave us an upgrade with the new lock which was a nice touch.

Off centered blades, gritty opening/closing, and bad grinds are all justified issues. these are things that Quality control should work out b4 leaving the factory. it only takes a min to inspect a knife.

I'm expecting mine to be just like my normal G-10 Military (would have loved CF), but with a titanium framelock and with a different blade steel. I think some users expected more than this, but I don't see how they could have expected that...

There seems to be few legitimate complaints by some users, but that would happen with a normal run of Militaries as well I think.

Being one of the most anticipated sprint runs ever and also probably the one that took longest to be delivered had so much hype built up (by us, not Spyderco or Knifeworks), I'm not surprised there were some disappointments. We haven't heard all the gripes out there and I suspect we won't, due to the reactions so far to the few that did so.

Discouraging discussion, even criticisms, does nothing to help our community. I'm sure Sal and company would rather have his customers be honest and forthcoming. If the complaints are trivial or unrealistic, that's one thing. But some of the feedback on this forum could and have resulted in better products and new directions from which we all benefit.

I happen to really like my M4 Millie and it's up to the standards I expect from Spyderco.

My M4 Military is exactly what I expected it to be. It is of the same quality as my other Militaries. It is not as smooth as my BG-42 Military. But I have carried and used that one for 3 years now. So once the M4 military is broken in I expect it to be just as smooth. It is already improving from the limited use it has seen so far.
