Yeah, I'm trying to work a trade with a guy now.

So the stainless steel attachment to the lockbar was a surprise to everyone, huh?

Paramilitary in S90V? Will it be on the Para 2 frame? Or the original para style? Was this another pre-ordered knife? Not sure I want to do that again.

The lockbar attachment was only a surprise in how it would actually look and function. Kristi gave us a heads up on it back in August in the thread linked below.

The S90v is a preorder for the Paramilitary 2

I'm satisfied.

I got what I expected, though. Spyderco doesn't make as good a titanium framelock as Chris Reeve, but Chris doesn't make a Military either.

Just 'cause the M4 is a limited edition doesn't change that.

telling someone to just return the knife...that's just lame.

Since you think this is lame advice.

Please share with us what you think the best advice would be, and while you are at it, share your opinion of what the the buyer of a defective knife should be entitled to.

my bad J. wasn't really directed toward anything you said. you're just trying to help something...that can't be fixed.
guy was told some possible solutions and clearly fixing something that shouldn't need fixin' is the major gripe.

for some people time is $. if spyderco spent the time to make a non-defective knife in the first place. Then, I believe 13 wouldn't be complaining about it. Because, now the guys has to take the time to fix it. Even if that means dropping it in the mail...

IMHO, which has no merit to all you super forum posters here. M4 is just another hype steel that needs some more testing.

And of course, you don't even have the knife, but voted that you're disappointed.

Look genius, why don't you go play in a thread that is devoted entirely to you! I recommend to everyone who sees this to check it out!

Your have no credibility.

I don't understand the purpose of that thread.!? Kinda odd.....I'll give ya that.

My vote is legit though. But it ain't worth arguing about.

I know what I received, and it is not what everyone else is describing. I have blade play front to back when locked open which adjusting the pivot does NOT fix. I am not about to take it apart and void the warranty because I shouldn't have to do that in the first place.

The thing that bothers me the most is that it doesn't seem like a big deal to Sal. I could be wrong, I'm not here all the time.....but it seems like a few similar complaints in a forum moderated by the owner of the knife company should get a response by him.

If not, "Hey, if you aren't happy with your knife, send it back to us and we'll make it right for you.", then "Thank you for pointing out concerns. The issues mentioned will be address and steps will be taken to assure these type of issues won't arise again in the future."

Sorry.....I'll stop now. Maybe I'm off my rocker.

According to his profile Sal hasn't been on Bladeforums since 10/19/10. Rather than waiting for him to find this thead why not email or PM him directly? You could also contact Spyderco customer service or even Knifeworks. You waited eleven months for the knife because you had no choice but to wait just like the rest of us. There's no reason for you to wait now.

Not a troll?

Apparently this forum was designed with trolls in mind...

Just got my MiM4, and it's awesome.

The blade is centered. The action is smooth. The lock is perfectly adjusted. The blade play is zero. The fit and finish is excellent.

The blade grind was a tad coarse, but nothing to worry about. The edge grind was coarse and the sharpness was ordinary -- less than I usually get from Spyderco.

On one side of the edge, the angle was a little more than 15 degrees. On the other side, it was quite a bit less than 15 degrees. I couldn't tell exactly because the edge grind was too coarse to measure with my laser edge protractor.

The tip was rounded, although not really noticeable with the naked eye. The factory sharpening didn't go to the full point, but it was typical of factory knives, even good ones.

The steel fitting for the Ti lock tang does not prevent the tang from overextending, but that's not something I've ever worried about. I mention it only because someone said the steel fitting acts as a tang stop on their knife.

I sharpened it up on my Wicked Edge sharpener. Spyderco used a very hard M4. Reprofiling took much longer than it did with my Benchmade AFCK, which had a thicker edge angle.

The steel took a good edge up to the 1600-grit ceramic stone. I didn't try to strop it yet. But it's very sharp. And the tip came out perfect. Even under a 10x loupe, the point shows no rounding. This is a great tool. After sharpening, the edge was 14 degrees on one side and 16 on the other. The Wicked Edge is a little tricky to use with a full flat grind blade -- even with the second-generation model I have -- but it's still the best system I've found.

I haven't had a chance to use the steel yet, but from the way it responded to the sharpening, I get the impression that this is good stuff. FFG M4 with a good heat treat. It doesn't get much better than that.

Purpose of this thread is for fanboys to out cry the fact that 14 knife enthusiasts who pay upfront and wait for like year or so were disappointed at the end.

Good company should be proactive and work hard first making quality products, then provide adequate quality control and finally customer service. If all this in place - we should not see it in public forums.

Fanboy attack is cheapest damage management, but from other hand sign that the normal way to deal with this issues does not work. I would not imagine this five years ago.

Thanks, Vassili.

I would add that lately I see quite a bit threads like this one.

I'm not going to quote the above poster, but man oh man, what a train wreck. I'm happy with my M4 Mili. The only negative I see is that the edge was not as sharp as some Spydercos I've received - edge is a little too coarse. It's a beautiful knife and mine will be a user!

I love mine. Lockup is perfect. Perfectly centered. Opens soo smooth (I lubricated it with Militec-1)

The Military is my favorite knife model. And this Military is everything I wanted a Military to be. It is now my #1 EDC knife. At least it is until I get that New Benchmade 805 in a few months.

I'm very happy.

No. Because he has been looking at my profile everytime he logs in...just to go through any of my post to TROLL them.

You don't have to go to someone profile to view their posts, you just click on their screen name and select that option.

more than satisfied. great seller, would buy again. :p
really, it's a wonderful knife, especially considering it's a production model.
