I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I am a little disappointed by the way that lockbar insert is executed, compared to the Lionsteel, for example.
I guess we know why bbq boy started a thread about the resale value of the M4 Ti.

Hardly any profiteering there, nothing to criticize IMO. On eBay, I would *guess* that $300 is a cinch and $350 wouldn't surprise me. Lots of hype and demand for a superior knife, and very limited supply.
That was me. I only marked it up to $250 to cover the PayPal fees and shipping. I think I made about $5 on it. I didn't care to make any money on it and the reason I sold it is because I am spoiled by other folders such as my CRK's. I need to recover.I was excited about this folder but got put off by all of the delays.
Soanyone who gives the new design a demerit for appearances should give some plus points for this one, which is a lot cleaner than the (ahem) current standard solution to over-travel.

Who said anything about profiteering or criticizing anyone? I just pointed out what I thought was the reason He was making inquiries as to resale value is all.

Great pictures of the steel insert/lockstop on a disassembled Millie M4 posted by Brad S. (Brad Southard) over at the spyderco forum.

First off I'd like to say I like the knife very much and think spyderco is moving in a nice direction with their steels.
Once the M4 millie comes out in full production I don't expect it to have much less or more than a catalog m.s.r.p. of $350, with dealers offering it for around $250, and hopefully less.
Because if your looking at a knife that's around $300, you might as well get something a bit nicer for $400...if you know what I mean. That will NEVER drop in value. I could see a semi-custom production, 100% Ti millie m4 or s90v up around $300.
If Spydie is smart they'll keep the priceing reasonable enough for the dealers to make a profit, and us (the buyers) to have a great knife at a fair value.
I'll just play a wait and see what happens. Lots of cool new knifes are being introduced from many knife manufacturers.
So, as far as secondary market. It is what it is. Not to repeat previous posters.
They will only be what someone else(impatient people) are willing to pay.
Do you know something we should know???![]()
My thought as well. I'd be a little disappointed to see this limited/exclusive run go into regular production. Even though at the time it was considered a "sprint run" I bought my orange Millie because of the color. From a collector standpoint it would have been nice if it had stayed a "sprint run" but as I understand it a "sprint run" can be made more than once so it really wasn't a big deal.
This one however was marketed as an exclusive, limited run. That fact in addition to the choice of M4 steel and and the 1/2 Ti, 1/2 G-10 construction is what drew me to it. Not to sound selfish but I hope 500 is that are made.
Do you have an Umnumzaan by chance? If so, I'm just wondering how you would compare the two personally. I have an M4 Spydie coming, but like you, I have more than I need and am debating what I might or might not sell.
