Magnacut campsword/ extra long Bowie

It turned out pretty well, heck of a chopper and slices well too. I like it a lot more than I thought I would from the original sketch. The finished blade was only 21oz, but with the handle pieces it comes out to 27oz. The balance point is a couple inches along the sharp edge. The Magnacut blade and 416 handle hardware were both dark etched and stonewashed. The handle is stacked suretouch and fiber reinforced rubber.

The fact that it's a fancy fantasy blade made to be used is one thing. The fact that it has a built-in bottle opener takes it to the next level.

Yea, yea, everyone was a critic of me, fantasy blade this, fantasy blade that, "looks like it came strait out of a video game" yada yada yada.

Well it's made now guys, and Richard said it cuts amazing and has a great balance point so 😜 to all the people that turned it down, it's made, it's awesome and it rocks 🤟

You were very fortunate! He is a great maker, but only works on what he feels like, so it was pretty cool he took an interest in your project!

Yea, I'm very grateful to him, it took me 2 years to find someone because most makers either wanted to change 1 or 2 things about the design, or they said they could do it and just as I was about to ship them the steel they backed out siting either financial/ time constraints or some how just then realizing their grinders might not be powerful enough to work on a magnacut blade with this much surface area. It was a real struggle let me tell you, but Richard pulled it off and after 5 months of working with him my dream blade was made!

He did an amazing job, it's probably around 95% accurate to my drawings and I couldn't be happier.

I'll be testing it out soon, so stay tuned for my commentary related to that in my other thread on this.

I don't know why you feel the need to "in your face" the makers who turned the job down. You have the knife, nearly exact to the design you wanted, and apparently for only the cost of materials and shipping. I'd think it should be enough to be happy and let others be happy for you.

Ah yes, I just saw one of your comments. I will respond over there.
