Makes me wish I was out in the woods!

Thanks for sharing the experience, D!

So after battling some serious computer issues I've finally gotten the last installment put together and loaded on youtube. The knife and sheath have been done for almost a month and have already made it safely into the hands of their new owner, who seems to be looking forward to putting the knife through its paces soon (don't be shy, brother - this thing was made to be punished!)

I truly enjoyed making this knife, and documenting the process, though a bit time consuming, was an enjoyable distraction as well. Thanks to all for the kind words and sorry for making you suffer my horrible sense of humor along the way. Probably just a side effect from all the glue I've been sniffing lately... Thanks also to all the other makers who post their work-in-progress threads here. I've learned so much and found great inspiration from your work. Makes me proud to be a part of this community...

Anyway, here it is, the final installment. Hope you enjoy it

Those are some great videos. You are like all my favorite teachers. You add a little humor in with the information to make learning fun. Good stuff.

Fantastic work on the knife. The videos were a lot of fun to watch. Thank you for putting the time in to make the videos.

Don't worry bro - I won't be shy - in fact I can't wait to put it to use.

Camp knives have always been amongst my very favourite designs - big knives that not only can be used but beg to be used.

This one is a terrific design, IMHO. The handle is extremely comfortable and allows enough room for choking up a bit, or rocking back toward the butt for maximum power. And the drop in the handle promises for a very powerful chop indeed.

I like the fact that this piece isn't overly massive. Camp knives that are darn near 3 inches wide and half an inch thick may strike a mighty blow, but the sheer mass is a disincentive to carry them very far afield. This one gives you all you really likely need in a design that should prove quite versatile.

I am REALLY looking forward to putting it through its paces.

I feel your pain with the hand-stitching of that sheath - something I have done only once and don't look forward to doing again. I have to say I find that bolo-tie closure with the fossil ivory tip to be a really attractive as well as entirely functional.

Thanks for a great knife my friend - and for an enjoyable experience watching it all come together in these videos.

Thanks guys.

Roger, I'm just thrilled that you like it. Can't wait to hear you report back on all the cutting and chopping you do with it.
