"Mall Ninja"??

3G and JonCon, I don't want your bickering from another thread flowing into mine. Take it to PMs because I'm not interested in your quarrel. And don't give me garbage about how you were answering my questions because it's obvious you two have a disagreement. Just leave it out of this thread please.

To me a mall ninja is a stupid person who walks around armed and tells people that he does so only to survive and be safe, when he actually wants more drama in his life and walks around doing stupid things, secretly wishing for someone to attack him so that he would get an excuse to "fight to survive" and "protect himself". A delusional person.

3Guardsmen, If I remember correctly, you were one of the people calling Strider owners chumps and mall ninjas...
I never called Strider owners or you anything. I said I felt the knives were overpriced, mall ninja, chump knives. I included other brands of knives in that category as well. I also stated I have owned, and since sold, a Strider knife.
To be fair, I said someone that does not like them, can't justify the cost or just can't afford them. And, that only came after pages and pages of stupid remarks towards owners of certain brand knives. Really childish stuff!
Well, this is a knife forum, and people are passionate about knives. There are bound to be things said that we disagree with.
Unfortunately that's a somewhat true remark. Maybe not so much with knives, but cars and homes for example. You'll often hear someone refer to another that owns nice things as "wasteful" or "what the hell does he need that for", etc. When, in all reality, they'd own the same things if they could.
I'm sure there are people like that, but they too have a right to post their opinions. Perhaps, after getting to purchase whatever it is they're 'hating on,' they'll change their tune. If not, who cares? I may own a knife you might think is an underpriced, mall ninja, chump knife, and if that's the case, I wouldn't mind you saying so. Opinions vary, as do people's reactions to those opinions.
Or, when some guy sees a really pretty girl, then sees her boyfriend or husband. Very often, that guy will make some stupid comment to his friends about the "fag" that girl is with or at least put the guy down in some way.
I'm the opposite. If I see a guy with a really hot chick, I assume he's a stud and has game. Unfortunately, there are guys out there who think their ladies are a lot hotter than they are, or a lot hotter than other guys do, and such is the case, in my opinion, with Strider knives. I think they're overpriced, mall ninja, chump knives.

Regards,
3G

Age has nothing to do with mall ninja-ism, neither does discretionary income. In fact, guys with more years and more money are even bigger mall ninjas, because they do the research and spend the money on the best gear, and then do jack diddly squat with it. Guys with no formal training, no licensing, and they have small armories and talk about TEOTWAWKI.

And some guys in the military do this a lot. Nothing like listening to a guy in a support role talk blockbuster war movies for half an hour trying to convey training value, while discussing his WWII collection, then have another NCO come along and give you a first hand account of when his 1SG was gunned down in a firefight as they rolled right outside the wire.

mall ninja knives? made by these kinds of people, or specifically marketed to the mindset that you're gonna actually fight someone with a knife.

Unfortunately for you, though you may have started this thread, you don't dictate what happens in it.

Y'know 3G I was always suspicious that you were a douchebag, but you just basically spelled it out in bright neon letters right here. You're one of just two people that have made my ignore list. Good job buddy.

This seems to make sense. I like this explanation.

I like that explanation also, but I would add that even though they have no training they think they are an expert in all forms of combat (Knife fighting).

Gentlemen, there is nothing wrong with this discussion that a creative use of the Ignore List wouldn't cure. It's a fun topic, so please stay with it, and stop discussing each other.

This is the General Knife Discussion, not Whine & Cheese. Don't get carried away with your command of insulting language.

I apologize for putting it out there for everyone to see, but I don't apologize for what I said. His demeanor was way out of line. JonCon had no problem with the cease and desist. Your warning is duly noted Esav. Back on topic now...

Mall Ninja is an over used term for guys who lack a vocabulary, much
like the term "troll" is thrown around by people who don't go along with
the staus quo. Much like the "hip hop" crowd who cannot annunciate without
the copious use of the "f" word.

You're forgetting the "n" word as well :p

If someone calls you a mall ninja -stab them

Seriously though, dont stab people for hating your blade choice, just throw some smoke, do a couple flips, and evade into the darkness. That will surprise the fuck out of them.

In all honesty, I dont think the term is used seriously, its just a teasing sort of thing. Maybe if you are a kid who has never been taught, trained, given responsibility, or learned competance -and you go out and the first knife you buy is a "spike fist combat bowie," then you may be endangered of being called a mall ninja. Just dont be an idiot and you will be alright. buy whatever knife you want, THIS IS AMERICA DUDE carry a sword if you can handle responses you will get.

Had a discussion about this earlier today with a friend, guess it's still on my mind :foot:
