Manix 2 or Paramilitary 2???

I love that Manix handle. Better fit for my hand than the PM2.

Are you sure you didn't handle a Military? Both the original Para and the Para2 have a compression lock. The Military has a liner lock, is a good bit larger, and has a different handle shape.

The sticker said Paramilitary. Maybe it was mislabeled because it definitely had a liner lock.
 
You guys have any opinions on the lightweight Manix vs the G10? Now I'm stuck on that! Haha!
 
My wife has a LW in BD1. It has taken a beating for two years. Actually 2 years today that I gave it to her on valentines day.
Never oiled or adjusted since day one. Just beaten. I love the BD1 for hammering on. Although carpet killed the edge. You can always get the s110v.

My guess would be mislabeled or maybe they got scammed on a return because the only liner-lock Paras I've seen are fakes and I know SMKW is a reputable dealer.

Also, to be clear, the compression lock is similar to a liner lock, but it disengages on the top/spine instead of the bottom side of the scales.

Love my multiple Manix's, so good choice. My favorite one so far is the lightweight S110V. You will here rumors from people who have never handled or owned a LW that it is fragile and not strong enough. Well they are dead wrong. I've put mine through waaaaayyy to much crap and it has preformed flawless. The s110v is amazing! With the lightweight you will be saving about 2 oz and it also has a waaaayy better pocket clip. I would recommend the LW in s110v.

IMO the best EDC knife produced to this date. Just my 2 cents.

I now have both and while there are obviously similarities they feel very different. I normally prefer lightweight but if I had to sell one and choose one to keep the Manix 2 G10 wouldn't be going anywhere. Thankfully I can keep both.

I only checked 2 dealers (BladeHQ & KnivesPlus) but both had the G10 & LW all black in stock.
 
Been eyeing the PM2 for a while now. Finally decided to pull the trigger thanks to this thread. Now comes the wait!
 
I've owned multiple versions of the Para 2 and just got a few Manix recently, still Para 2 all the way - just such a functional, ergo and handsome knife. Manix ergos are great too

Only choice you have if going with s110 is dark blue scales and no coated blade bro.
Blacked out only available in G10.

Oh boy. The problem here is that I'm not a huge fan of blue. Haha. Is BD1 really that bad of steel? Right now I'm using a RAT 1 with AUS-8 and have no problems with it. How does BD1 compare? I get mixed reviews of the steel and can't get a straight forward answer on the comparison.

I have 2 BD-1 and an s30v. BD's edge won't last as long, but is very easy to bring back.
Pretty sure the only handles for BD are the trans blue tho!! I love the color and that bitch is tough as nails!
You better start liking blue my friend!!!
I think my fav Manix2 is the G10 blacked out one. I kinda like the feel of that weight in hand......and the coated blade is just too friggin sexy!!
Sounds like a cliche, but you can't go wrong with any of them........and you MUST check out a PM2 bro!!

BD-1 is an awesome steel. Very user friendly. In my experience it's very similar to Aus8.

Sure, the edge won't last as long as some modern day super steels, but it sharpens up quite easily! I'm digging it on my blacked out version.
