Manix 2 or Paramilitary 2???

I hated my manix 2. Hated the lock, how thick it was, how slick the jimping on top was. Yet I just bought that moon glow one edc edition (well my wife made me do it). But yea Dont buy a manix 2. Get a para and everything will be right with the world.
 
OH almost forgot. To me the budget version of the para 2 is the Raven 2 byrd knife. Same steel as the manix but way thicker, excellent choil up front and about the same size as them. And its $42 on amazon. Amazing knife for super short money. If you want that steel but dont want to spend $80+ go for the Byrd Raven2. Or get the Crow 2 for a smaller version. The blade stock is real thick and that knife can take a beating.

A lot is said about the weight of the G10 Manix 2 (5oz) but if you are somewhat handy and have a Dremel tool (or drill with a carbide bit) you can cut at least a 1\2oz off. My G10 Manix 2 is a user so I didn't care how the liners looked after I cut them. Be warned though: these liners are hard. Cut slowly with frequent breaks to keep the liners cool. You don't want to warp them.
 
I got a PM 2 in camo G10 . Santa gave me an early pressy.
Love it. It is my edc.

I also have 2 sebbies , Enzo and Eka folders , so plenty of choice for edc.

No worries about concealed carry.

When you can buy Opinels , Douk Douks , SAK and others at the local supermarket, we dont have a knife problem.

I love the action on the Spydie.

I got is sharp and thats the way to keep 'em

She's definitely a keeper. I was up last night looking at my options and NOW I'm thinking about going with an all black PM2! Haha. I'm all over the place. I'll probably order it tonight or tomorrow.

This knife surprised me so much and has been my main edc since I got it. No one wants them though apparently, listed on closeout at the factory store... I guess the extra printing on the blade and the color aren't everyone's cup of tea.

I was at this same point. I like both knives but could only get one. I ended up getting the Para2 and I'm pretty satisfied. Its a great knife and I love the lock. I will definitely get a Manix 2 tho in the future :D Some food for thought, I always was a little turned off by the fact that the whole lock mechanizm for the Manix 2 is basically a piece of plastic with a steel ball pressed into it. I think thats why I still don't have one even tho I love everything else about it

I love the look of this one and had it in the cart......until I saw they wanted $13 for shipping. Kinda turned me off.
I picked up a Native on our Exchange, dark blue scales and the previous owner put an s35 blade in them. What a cool little EDC blade!

Yeah, the shipping is kind of steep and most stuff is listed at full msrp, so I've only bought forum knives and mules direct. It helps if you're getting more than one item though.
 
Me, personally, I like PM2 better. For me, I prefer the ergonomics as well as the compression lock better.
 
I love my pm2 and the next will likely be a mantra or mantra2. Really like the shape of the mantra2
 
I just ordered a Manix XL in G-10. I also looked at the PM2, but ultimately, I'm not a huge fan of the compression lock.
 
I saw that a few months ago and thought it would fit the same roll as my Manix 2 in S110v (super lightweight slicer) so I didn't pull the trigger. Just looked at the website now and it's under $100.00. Shit, even with $13.00 in shipping that is incredible! Where can you get 3 inches of S90v for roughly $100.00 (insert dick joke here)? I know they have a lightweight and G10 (blurple) both in S110v. The lightweight in S110v is going for a bit over $100.00 on Bladehq so maybe that is why the forum edition dropped so much. I don't have any experience with S90v but love S110v.
 
I gotta be honest, I'm shocked that some people are nominating the manix. While it's a fine knife... the PM2 is like THE gold standard knife. Everything about the PM2 is perfect. The size, shape, deployment, blade steel, grind geometry, and the compression lock is so great.

PM2. PM2. PM2. PM2. All day, 'ery day.

YUP!!! Manix is a cool knife.....the PM2 is outstanding! With one of the best locks out there! I have 5 of them and want more!

I handled both before buying a PM2. It is lighter than G-10 Manix 2 and slimmer in pocket. The pointy blade and straight spine are better for my uses than the Manix blade shape. Open back design makes it easier to clean, too.
