How much do you use the white? For the past several months I've been stopping at brown and am pretty happy with the results. I don't know if it's me, but the brown also gives my hand better feedback. Sometimes with the white I have trouble feeling whether I'm at the edge or not. Here is what I usually use to touch up, including S110V...

I need to find one in stock.... I will be buying one after reading this though![]()
I don't use the white all that much, I like the edge finish the brown gives, nice and aggressive.![]()
So you only use the brown (medium) profile stone to maintain the edge? I was thinking that I could just use the white (fine) on the Double stuff for maintenance but like the idea of the medium better! Works good?
All of those models are from seki city japan and the manix 2 light weight is made here in the USA. This may or may not make a difference with the "problems" you have been experiencing with FRN.

I tend to like more aggressive edges personally.![]()
Actually I do too and being a noob to sharpening, I had thought my Fine stone would still give me an aggressive edge! Guess I was wrong! Thanks for the tip/info!
I have a couple other blades I need to find someone that can put a great edge on them for me! Then hopefully I can maintain them!![]()
BBS tacks on about $40-50 to all their Spyderco offerings, so far as I can tell.
I don't know why.
