Manix2 CPM S110V

Thank you guys I just ordered one from National Knives as well I'm getting sick of waiting for BladeHQ to ship mine out.

I just received mine today and I love the look but the blade is so far off center, it is just shy of rubbing on the side. I can't believe that New Graham or Spyderco would ship something like this and what stinks more is now I have to pay to ship it back to them. I am sooooo bummed!

Try adjusting the pivot before sending it back.

Ordered 3 from different dealers. 2 are going to go to my apprentices when they finish their apprenticeship, and one is for me. :p Thanks for the heads up on NK!

I have tried but still cant get it close to center. I was able to get it just a hair towards center but then when I play around with it like flipping it open then closing a few times, it seems to go back to where it was!

Is there any loctite on the pivot screw? It may be unscrewing when you open and close it repeatedly. Perhaps try putting a drop of blue(make sure its blue!) loctite on the pivot screw.

Is one of you nerds going to try to do a blade swap already, or what?

I still don't have one in my hands yet but from further research, if this is put together like the other LWT Manix - it seems the blade is held in by a pivot bushing. So taking the screw out doesn't release the blade. You'd have to drill or mill out the rivets and take the whole thing apart to get the blade out. And then figure out a way to put it back together.

Seems like more work than I'm willing to do right now.

No loctite on the screw! I dont have any blue loctite! :)

I cant seem to fix it enough so it wont bother me but I will give it another day of trying before it goes back!

I just ordered one from National Knives (a paid dealer member). I'm really looking forward to this knife.

Amazing! I placed the order in the middle of the night and it was in the mail first thing this morning. I should receive it on Saturday.

Thanx Jim.

Sir_Mike,

Sorry for the disappointment and inconvenience. I would suggest you send it to us.

thanx,

sal

That is certainly an option vs sending it back to the company I purchased it from! Do you have any idea what might be going on with this knife? Feel free to PM to discuss.

Thx.
Mike

FYI - this is my first Manix so I am not that familiar with them but not my first Spyderco! :)

Can't say anything without seeing the knife in hand.

Let me play with it tomorrow and if I still cant get it right, I will probably send it to you guys on Monday. What kind of turnaround do you have?

EDIT: Will I be able to use the Double stuff to sharpen this steel? I heard that it is quite tough sharpen! Thx.

Tough to reprofile, not bad to sharpen at all, ceramics work great with S110V.

Great, another knife I bought cause this forum. I hate/love all of you.

I still have no clue how/why this handle is better than the translucent models.

Thanks for the reply Jim. I hope I have no need to reprofile! I wont will I? If Sal can fix it if I cant, I just want to be able to keep it sharp! :)

It is FRN and not FRCP. Don't know if what is better than the other or why they changed. Also, Sal lead on that this "midnight" blue will be the S110V color. I am assuming like the BRG is the ZDP-189 color. This knife is reported to be .1oz lighter than the FRCP version.

Depends I guess. :)

Just touch it up once in awhile when the edge starts to lose some bite and you will be fine.
