Maxpedition Bottle holder kit, review and pics

Hey MT....Thanks for the shock cord. Got it today. Just so happens I had 2 tan cord locks sitting around. Great idea for these kits.

I ordered some shock cord as well. Can't wait to give it a go. Got the 1/8 and just hope it fits the cord locks I ordered from CountyComm.

Been carrying mine and figuring out how to pack it, and have it pretty well set up now.

I cut the flimsy belt loop off the Mora sheath, and wrapped some duct tape around the bottom so it fits nice and snug in the webbing. The sheath will stay put when I pull the knife out too.

On the other side I have a little flashlight tucked in

And the pocket holds the basics. I will eventually get a small external pouch for a more beefed up first aid kit. I also found that there's enough room on top of the bottle for a small can of tuna or chicken salad or bag of trail mix

I'm really loving this setup for hikes in the evening.

It really does fit perfectly in there and doesn't weigh anything. I've been using that Mora quite a bit lately, and I am embarrassed to say I'm starting to dig it a little bit. My fancy pants knives are giving me the evil eye! I am not as much of a Mora hater as I used to be :p

Thats a great set up T. That mora does fit good in there. I really havent used mine yet, might stick it in there....

here's a shot I found on the net, anyone have any clue what braid is being used here (me likes :))?- also appears to be another Mora user :D

The Mora seems to go great with these, especially for me since I don't like wearing a knife on my belt for the most part. Keeps the whole kit light and compact

Is there a wood stove out there that may fit between the nalgene and the cup? Not sure if I have seen one in the thread.

I dont know of any wood stoves, but you can make an alcohol stove that will fit in the top.

I had about enough of seeing all the cool things you all did with your water bottle holder, so I went and got mine.

Here she is in the set up I plan on using for an overnighter.

I also have a cacoon pouch I will put on in place of the big pouch for short dayhikes.

Ok, so now all my items are coming in from different vendors. I opted for the SnowPeak Ti cookware set. 850ml pot fits well on the plastic Nalgene. Question...why am I doing this instead of just adding the pot to my Camelbak? I'm still going to do it, just not sure why :)
