Maxpedition Bottle holder kit, review and pics

I find it easier for me to carry on a belt instead of the shoulder strap:

Cliff, how are you attaching this to your belt?

Which size of bottle holder did you go with...is it the 4x10 or 5x12 in order to have the extra space in the top section?

I've got the 10x4 and it's got the space on top with a 32oz. nalgene, so the 12x5 should as well.

This bottle holder is without a doubt one of the best pieces of gear Maxpedition ever came up with. I love mine.

I'm officially in the market for one of these now. For all you guys that have them, how comfortable is the shoulder carry on these guys? I'm looking to get a 10x4 first.

I just ordered one from Two Wolves with the shoulder strap just for the hell of it, in matching color of course. Then I thought a mini-rollypoly would be nice to go with it. And then I've been wanting a RAT Izula, so I got the whole kit. And then I thought...

Fortunately, I was able to stop myself at that point.

Wow, these bottle holders are really picking up momentum! To everyone on the fence: get one. You'll love it! It is one awesome piece of gear and carries very well.

Thanks ;email sent.
Do you have any 12x5 Khaki left ?

James

James, I actually picked up the last khaki 12x5 from Two Wolves:o You might be able to find one with another vendor or on the secondary market though.

LA Policegear told me they were getting more 12X5 Khaki in 2 weeks. This coming from mine being on order for 3 weeks or there abouts. Told them to send what was in stock instead with the color choices being OD Green, Foliage Green, then Black. Apparently they have Foliage Green in stock as that is what they shipped yesterday. So I wouldn't wait to long to order from anyone. (I'm not exactly trusting what LA Policegear said about 2 weeks. Then again, I'm not happy they didn't give a date of some sort saying when they were getting more. The only thing my order said was that the "Shipment is inbound" whenever I looked at my order.)

Thanks; I have a few WTBs posted and will check a few other options.

Thanks Cpl ! Just called EM and they are all out of the 12x5 and won't be re-ordering :( Oh well.

It's getting so hard to resist...

I think a 10x4 w/ cocoon pouch would be a good start. Now the real question...black or foliage green?

Also are the tacties adjustable? I assume they are, but just want to check. I don't see why I should order the 3" ones if the 5" is adjustable.

Well I broke down and ordered the 12x5 w/ M-2 and some 3" tac ties(I have a couple of 5" still). I will probably pickup a cocoon pouch at some point. I know I can use the M-2 just on my belt if I need to. Foliage green for the 12x5 and Digi FG for the M-2.

Turkey season comes in tomorrow so I will be using these some pretty quick. Hiking through the woods some looking for that gobbler will be a fun way to start off.

They are adjustable, but there is a reason they make a 3 & 5" tactie.

3" is just right for the shorter stuff and 5" is to big. You really can't do anything with the left over length of the 5" tacties.

I have two over hear with me and dont use them. I find it a pain to try and unzip the top one handed. but in the world camping I love them.

The 12x5 has just enough room to fit a Svea 123 underneath the Nalgene bottle nestled in a metal cup. Good stuff!

Heres my Bottle holder. It is the 10 x 4. It holds my nalgene, gsi cup and all the fire staring goodies.

This is by far the handiest piece of gear for a lightweight day hike. I love mine. But I do want to add one of those cacoon pouches to the side of it to give it just a little more storage space.

rekcut, nice set up. I'm picking up a foilage green 10x4 with a cocoon pouch real soon and I'm going to add my prototype izula to it.
