Maxpedition Bottle holder kit, review and pics

j williams cool set up:thumbup: I have been putting one of these off long enough. FYI- lapolicegear is running a 35% off all maxpedition gear!(it runs through 4/22)

Also, where can I find Joezilla's review? He does some cool write ups.. fun to read, but damn if they don't always part me with my hard earned cash:o:D

Something newer and much better coming out!

just kidding. :p I have no idea, maybe it just doesn't sell as well as the 10x4.

Wow, you folks are costing me on this forum. Good thing the information you provide is solid stuff. I emailed Lisa (LupaWolf) at Two Wolves with a couple questions, and she quickly got back to me with the information I needed. I then pulled the trigger on a 10x4, strap, Guyot, Glacier cup, Cocoon, paracord and a few other things.

I'm really looking forward to trying this stuff out this summer with my 2 1/2 year old on the trails near our house. I chose the 10x4 because of what j williams said before. If I got the bigger kit, I'd be tempted to overpack. I've got a larger lumbar pack that I could use if I need to carry more gear, but this kit should work out perfectly for our daily outings. I'll post more when I get the stuff and give it a whirl.

Tim at Maxpedition simply told me they were discontinuing the 12x5 but keeping the 10x4. He offered no explanation. I can only guess that it is not cost effective to produce both with their ever expanding line and that the 10x4 is the better seller.

Thanks guys for visiting the site and trusting me with your orders, and for the kind words.

Joezilla's review on the 10x4 that was posted on BladeForums is also on my site... from back when I was able to commission his most excellent reviews... before he got busy and famous... miss you Joe!! and thanks again!

Woohoo - I got my 10x4 set up in the mail today - Thanks Jake!!!

This is a pretty cool package and set up.

Here's mine in the field. Not sure I got the tacties attached right. Just got so more pouches this week so it will change a bit.

Knives are SAK huntsman and BRK Kephart Companion.

Looks like you didn't weave the Tac-Ties in and out of the PALS webbing. It should thread back and forth through the loops on both the bottle holder and the pouch. :)

Just built a whole new day hike kit around the 10x4 water bottle holder from Two Wolves Outdoors. TWO is great to work with and they assisted and making sure I found everything I wanted. I'll post pictures once I've received the kit and put it together.

I just got my 10x4, strap, Tacties, Guyot and GSI cup in the mail today from Two Wolves. Cool kit! I can already tell that it's made very well. Stitching looks great. Everything is as it should be. The Cocoon and strap pad will be coming in later (backordered) but I'm really psyched to give this a whirl.

Now I've got to figure out how to organize my stuff.

I'm glad I clicked on this thread a short while back. I'm planning lots and lots of day trips with my 2 1/2 year old this summer in the parks and woods around the area (I'm a teacher with the summer off). I didn't want to lug around a backpack, so this setup should fill the niche in my outdoor gear. Stow a diaper and some wipes in the Cocoon along with some snacks and we'll be ready to go!

Thanks Lisa for the quick shipping and for the quick reply to my questions. I appreciate it!

Has anybody tried to couple either the 4x10 or the 5x12?.
Also will a jetboil fin in either? The latter may have been posted but I just read all of it at once while watching the history channel:D

I'd like to see a 11x5 to replace both current models and add a little material to the zippered pouch to give it a little extra room. If you talk to Tim, please mention this.

Yes, I agree. I find the exterior pocket size a little small as well, especially if you're carrying a guyot in the main compartment.

JOSH111... I dont have a jetboil, but if you do, measure the diameter and height.
The numbers on the 10x4 and 12x5 are the dimensions... if the diameter is under 5" and the height is under 12", it will fit in the 12x5.

othello, PB.. thank you both.

I got mine - now to start building a kit around it...

Thanks to Lisa @ Two Wolves Outdoors for the fast turnaround!!

I picked up a 10x4 and strap mainly for my wife. The bag is great but it would be nice if the strap was a bit longer. Anyone have a lead on a tin that is the correct size to fit under the bottle to build a psk around?
