May have bought a clone here.

Not read full discussion here, but if used F&F and paid with credit card via paypal you still fill a chargeback with your bank.

All due respect, you should read the thread. Can and should are two different things. PayPal's system was already abused once, this suggestion is essentially recommending to abusing their system once again.

I mentioned it very early on in the thread, but that advise is no longer appropriate to the situation-it would be abuse of the chargeback system in this case.
I don't believe he used the credit card anyway.

You can also quickly tell how payment was made if there is an option to print the shipping label via Paypal. In my experience every G&S payment I have received shows a "Print Label" button or similar. No button, F&F for sure.
I’ve never used F/F, and IMO it’s very easy to tell that a fee has been deducted w G/S.

On the transaction details page (one per transaction) it itemizes the payment details, including the PayPal fees. For me, that is the number preceded by the minus sign labeled "PayPal Fee."

I am sure if he was able to confirm the possibility of a fake he would have been on here in a NY minute. No further comments and no pics = OP not anyone to deal with here. I see no reason why I would not deal with the seller.
I'd rather light a hundred dollar bill for fire tinder than sell the OP a knife.five days and no photos.

The guy gets ripped off yet everyone is busting his ass for us f&f on paypal instead. lol
Did he? I missed where that was ever verified, the OP certainly never posted any proof that he was ripped off. In fact, he has never come back to the thread to even post his result from the knife show where this hundred dollar used knife was going to get authenticated, presumably as a hundred dollar used knife.

If all you garnered from this was the OP being vilified for using F&F, which he certainly was, you pretty much missed what the real issues here actually are.

Thanks for your contribution in keeping this one near the top.

Yup.

Yup.
Though I’m still following to see what comes of it.

131 posts
Clone-not a clone
Pics deleted-pics not deleted
Negative feedback warranted-negative feedback not warranted
7 pages of noise all to say 1 thing

F&F is for friends and family
G&S is for business

Sigh :poop:
And ignore is for anyone who can’t comprehend that

Again I know in my heart I did nothing wrong.

Pretty much says it all.

And just when you think the OP gets the booby prize for the most obtuse post in his thread - a defender steps in to try and snatch it away! Lol is right. Try reading more and posting less. Works for a lot of us.

So no one was busting his ass for using friends and family? Maybe try reading comprehension next time bub?

Um, yes he was and no one disputed that. Arguably the bigger issues from the OP were jumping the gun with the feedback before giving the seller a chance to respond, claiming the knife is a fake when he even states that he is unsure if it is genuine or not, and then when asked for proof of his claims he does not even give an ounce of effort to support them. I believe he mentioned that he couldn't be bother or had the time to do so.

Ripping others over poor reading comprehension isn't fair if you can't be bothered to read the thread for the details yourself. If you did read through it and have come to the conclusion that he was ripped off, then please share whatever information you have that supports that because the OP did not.

So you read every post of the entire thread before you comment?

Elsewhere, depends on the thread but usually enough to get the gist. It's not always necessary to read every post to share an opinion, give a recommendation, or share some other knowledge.

Here in the GBU, pretty much yes. I like to take the time to read so I know what's going on. I'd rather do that or not post at all than to post in haste, be wrong and then insult someone because I'm too lazy to know what I'm talking about. This guy prefers not to eat crow if I can help it.
