MBwirenut Doesnt Deliver

This is a good idea,, although at this juncture, we may be giving him more than just the benefit of the doubt..

im not sure what this means. but the seller has been online here, and hasnt responded yet. at least someone using his account has been online here.

i think dol has given wirenut a sufficient time to respond to emails and pms, so this thread is appropriate.

It means I agree with you!

As in, not only is he(seller) being given the benefit of the doubt, but we are giving him more then the benefit of the doubt at this point. As in the seller should have responded lonnnnnnnnnnng ago.

A while back ago MBWirenut was giving away a Ranger RD9. He ended up being led to me and through email he arranged to mail it to me. Never got the knife, never heard from him. Didn't really say anything because what was there for me to say, someone makes a generous offer and it falls through, but I'm out nothing. I poked around on the forums and found out he had some serious family troubles, so I think that might of caused it, or maybe he just found someone else to give it to. Reason I'm mentioning this is maybe it's possible something like this came up again. I've never dealt with him, but from what I gather he's a pretty stand up guy. Hope things go well for you and you get what's yours in the end.

someone goes to the trouble to post he's gonna give away a free knife maybe hoping for some pats on the back and then never delivers it, andf he's a stand up guy.

ok.

Exactly. Regardless of what happened, as long as he was still able to get on line, he was still able to notify the promised recipient that things had gone horribly wrong or whatever. But to offer something, promise to send it, and then just... not do it???

It really is too bad you didn't pursue this publicly, Vivi. Doing so might have warned-off DE OPPRESSO LIBER.

like i posted earlier, ive had nothing but good contacts with wirenut. he was given the benefit of the doubt for quite a while.

we all understand family/personal issues that affect shipping. but it appears he has been online, yet still fails to communicate.

patience is one thing, a total failure to deliver or provide an explanation is another.

Sorry guys and gals but (1) Mr. wirenut has not delivered said knife now for well beyond the normal time(it'll now be the month of June in less than 2 hours) it takes to send a knife. (2) Is completely incommunicado but is still online here. (3) Has a history of not delivering knives in the past when he has committed to deliver knives to folks, exampled by Vivi..

Sorry folks, but where I was brought up that means you just graduated the three strike School of Rules.. Your Outa there! Or more to the point, your good reputation is Outa there!.:thumbdn:

Being a stand up fellow or gal is what integrity is all about.

Maybe someone in Texas can call Mark. I know the Busse folks are pretty tight knit group and someone is bound to have his number.

I have a feeling that MBWirenut came here and saw this thread and that we aren't going to see him on Bladeforums anymore. I hope he proves me wrong.

Too bad that something like this happened. Hopefully MBWirenut has enough in his paypal account to cover this. If not it is going to be difficult to recover the funds.

I've seen two cases like this... on both counts, the seller was put in negative credit... so even if the funds aren't there, they will have the taken away so they'll be in the minus.. .then I believe they have a set time to get the balance back to 0.0000 before they get further action taken against them...

Paypal favours the buyer heavily

Looking at Paypals site, the only purchases covered by the Paypal Protection Policy are those made on eBay. Other purchases are covered by the Paypal Complaint Policy which states that Paypal will reimburse losses only to the extent that they can recover the funds from the seller.

Keith,

You are right on the money(pardon pun) with your conclusion. This situation happened to a friend of mine, who was the buyer of non-eBay merchandise in this case. Although the seller made nice-nice with PayPal and the buyer for about a month promising to pay, the seller never did pay and ultimately just forfeited/closed the PayPal account. My buddy was burned badly and was the big loser of that deal for a little over 1k for his trouble.

I'm just hoping DOL doesn't end up like that.
