MBwirenut Doesnt Deliver

I totally agree w/ KM on this. Insurance is for the "sender" IMHO. So if I send you a knife and it "vanishes" I immediately refund you (the buyer) and then start my claim to get my refund. But the buyer needs to be refunded asap and not when the refund comes in. Just my thoughts.

i agree, generally. when i ship i assume responsibility in the conus. if shipping outside the us, i require the buyer to assume responsibility. i provide insurance, unless otherwise requested, and a tracking number.

Paul, did he give you any idea what he planned on doing about this situation?
 
i hate that this happened. a once upstanding member has totally ruined any reputation he had.

stuff gets lost in the mail, we all have busy lives, but fix the problem.

do the right thing.
 
No he has not came up with anything yet he continues to PM me and ask questions, HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM i think im the one who should be asking the questions!!!!!!! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY did it take soooooo long for you to ship? Why did you not insure the package? why did have you not responded to this thread? what are you going to do about your gross negelgence in this whole transaction? well i will wait here for hos answer.
 
Well, up to this point he has used the U.S. mail to defraud you. I wonder if you have any recourse. :D

I will respond to this shortly. I have been in South America on worl for weeks. When I got back the other night I checked. Paul said there was no knife in the box with a lot of profanity. It was sent sig confirm. If he signed for it and couldn't tell if in fact there wasn't a knife in the box by the wieght then what? What do I believe? I told him already and he hasn't posted this comment that I would give him his money back if that is what I need to do after figuring what has happend and what recourse I have as well. It will work out somehow, so no I wasn't aware for weeks what had happend.
 
Alot of profanity yes, i asked if you were on DRUGS!!!!! you would to if you bought and paid for knife no communication at all!!!! then a box appears 5 weeks late or more with just your last name no insurance at all. them i open it and there is nothing but packing material inside. And you have the nerve to question me. If you would of just shipped me my knife when you promised to and insured it as you were supposed to with tracking maybee you wouldnt be in this fluggin mess!!!! good luck doing business with anyone else! I know i will never trade,sell or buy from you again.....

Who shipped the knife?

If you didn't insure then you have no recourse. You should refund the money immediately. You don't hold things up waiting until you can figure out what kind of recourse you have. That is something you do after you refund Paul his money. He has been out the cash for two months, and has nothing to show for it.

Are you saying that you think Paul is lying about not getting the knife?

Then we assume that his postal carrier doesn't stand around and wait for him to satisfactorally inspect packages before signing for them. That's what. Saying DOL swore and DOL didn't weigh the box in his hand before signing come across as a dodge.

Your whole response is indeed very peculiar starting with the fact that you actually made the statement above that he should have guessed the weight of a box that was sealed by you and was delivered in the same condition with obviously no holes or tears before signing? Do you also think the Post Man would have permitted him to tear open the box prior to signing?. Doubtful and slim to none at best.

In addition, I and numerous other members here were checking to see if you were here online periodically. We did this to see if you visited bf.com at any time during the duration of this thread in an effort to assist DOL since there was no appearance by you here, nor directly with him via email. And we spotted you here online multiple dates and times. So being in South America is no excuse not to have joined up with DOL here or directly with him well before the above post since obviously you had access to a computer while in SA.

Also, I am trying my best to figure out what train of logic you would have used in purchasing 'signature confirmation' instead of spending .60 cents for 'delivery confirmation' which would have let you both track the knife online. And in addition, you neglected to purchase 'insurance' for the knife for a few bucks, which incidentally would have been your only method of recourse in obtaining DOL's cash back from the Post Office after filing a claim when the knife was allegedly lost. As it stands now, there is no recourse whatsoever. So there is no 'figuring it out' as you put it.

Lastly, many members at first came to your aid in this thread vouching for your good reputation. But after your continuous long stint of being incommunicado, even those folks stopped backing you up and felt clearly a little uneasy about doing so after the facts came to light about the way you mishandled the transaction from the get-go.

I know I am a just a third party as every one else is here except for you and DOL, but in my IMHO you made a grave error in judgement, or worse, it was intentional. Those are the only two possibilities. The only way to make this right and to clear your name at this point is to pony up the $$$$$$ to DOL.
 
well said sunnyd. I've been following this thread and the bladegoblin one from the beginning hoping for a resolution. I figured when Mbwirenut weighed in it would be along the lines of getting things straightened out...not "well if he didn't check to see if I put a knife in the box, it's his loss".

MB, your reputation is shot here. at least salvage something from it and send De Opresso his money back or his knife. do the right thing.
 
MBWirenut, you should be handling this problem as quickly as possible, not looking for excuses that will let you off the hook.

It doesnt seem that MB wants to do the right thing. Maybe he sold the knife to somebody else. Maybe he didnt send the knife at all. Maybe he didnt have the knife to begin with. I hope that Paul gets his knife or his money back, at this point it doesnt look like either is going to happen absent some type of legal action. Why did it take so long to ship the knife, er, empty box? As far as the swearing goes....what would you do MB if you paid for a knife and didnt get it? If I were Paul, I'd be looking for you:grumpy:
