Back in the 1970's my grail Buck.
As with 99.9999% of grails (±1%), I never obtained one.

A beautiful fit for Go to Meet'n gentleman's knife. 😷👍 Congrats on having one. 👍

That’s odd. They weren’t built until 1980 or ‘81.

Folding knives go back centuries before the invention of the Spring Knife, we generally call Slipjoints here. This is one copied from a common pattern, carried between the 12th and 16th century, and made by Tod Cutler. I received it in the post last week, and this is the first day I've carried it

Very cool friction folder, Jack. Neat blade etch. I’m quite fond of friction folders.

Congrats on the very-old-school metal friction folder, Jack!:thumbsup::cool:
The knife is extremely cool, but not as cool as being made by a cutler named Cutler, who was obviously born to the trade!:cool: 🤓

As in the old Hans Christian Andersen folk tale "The Emperor's New Clothes", I have another Imperial (thanks, Mark) this week whose "new clothes" are "no clothes", and thus it qualifies for this Metal Monday thread:
