Michael Morris Friction Folder--Let's see 'em

Y'all keep this up and I just may have to order one, now that I'm on a friction folder kick. :grumpy:

I wonder if Mr. Morris ever thought of making a flat phillips on the end of that tang?

Carl.

I sent an inquiring email today. I hope I'm not looking at a 5 month wait. :o

jackknife did you order yours? :D

I sent Mr. Morris an inquiry yesterday. How long does he typically take for responses? Just wondering if I should call him or wait for email??

Oh ya, gotta have a break. I was more curious if he prefers emails or phone calls for orders.... During the week......

I Ordered a friction Folder today. Very excited, hope it comes sooner than 120 days!! What are peoples views on sheaths for the folder? Is it small enough to be comfy in the pocket or do I need a sheath?

It will not come sooner than 120 days.

The knife has incredibly slim profile. There are no liners. The file he uses isnt very thick, either.

I got the sheath anyways, just because it matched the natural micarta + looked too damn nice.

How does the leather sheath work, pocket or attach to hip? I like his kydex sheath but I already carry too much as it is.

It's a simple slip-in pouch. Really, nothing fancy, but it protects the knife and looks nice.

Hope this helps.

Derp-de-derp! I used my phone yesterday, clicked his email, it opened the email handling app that I don't normally use. I thought nothing of it. Sent, but it never sent. This issue caused me to late send two emails. I have changed the app association, I now need to delete the other app.

Friction Folder, drop point, bobtail, natural color handle.

That's pretty close to what I'm thinking about. Whatever his longer blade options are for me. I might change the color to something that isn't a stock option, but I like the natural. :)

I'm excited. I've been admiring his blades for a while. Wish it wasn't so long of a wait but he's busy. I figure that's a sign of great craftsmanship!!

I definitely recommend his friction folders. Although mine is of particular sentimental value, I ordered mine to be what you described--a natural micarta bobtail with his clip point style blade shape. Although it took around 5 to 6 months, it was, by far, worth waiting for. I am grateful he let me take my grandfather's file and turn it into the treasure of a tool I have now. I don't have a camera here, but I will post pictures next week on Tuesday or Wednesday (If I can figure out how, of course.)

Take Care,
Brian

Thanks to this thread and all the pics, I placed my order for one of my own! I will add my own pics when it comes, hopefully not too long.....

I have one on order too, I think September or October is my expected delivery. Can't wait!
