Michal Melichercik, traditional shepherd knives

A shepherd’s knife made according to an archaeological find from the surroundings of the village of Kozelník. The name Kozelník is derived from the Slovak word koza (goat). The original is kept in the National Historical Museum in Bratislava. The handle, made of apricot wood, is decorated with tin inlay and simple stamping. It features a distinctive motif that most likely depicts the Hungarian Holy Crown of Saint Stephen. The blade, crafted using historical methods, was made by swordsmith Róbert Môc. The rest of the knife is my own work. From the blade mounting towards the tip, the hamon line is clearly visible.

total length 21 cm

Always love to open this thread...👍👍👍..........Nice work..👌👌👌

Hey everyone,I wanted to bring to your attention my new thread dedicated to my more modern knives and other experiments. I'll also drop a little taste/sample right here.

It has two locking systems – a classic slip-joint and a liner lock. It opens with a button similar to Victorinox knives, but the mechanism is completely different – it’s only on one side of the handle. This allows for a much larger blade.

blade of ELMAX steel.
handle of stabilized ash wood. A green opal is set into the button. I named the knife Sand Lizard.
