Mick Strider has some explaining to do.

I am a little curious, what is going to be gained by all of this ???? Is the hope and plan of many here to see Strider knives put out of business ?? Some kind of public apology or Statement by Mick renouncing his misdeeds of the past.
Is Bladeforums inc willing to take the morale high road with these findings and ban the sale of all Strider knives by individuals, since it truelly believes that Mick Strider is a lying, fraud, military/Ranger poser want to be??
How about No longer allowing dealers to advertise and sell Strider knives on this forum, even if it means loss of revenue, I doubt that will be done?
So explain to me what is going to be gained by this whole topic being brought to light again on this forum, when no one really plans on doing the right thing about it anyway.
Nobody will ever get to the bottom of this story, its between Mick Strider and his conscience and he has to live with that.
Heavy questions, dude. One rather serious matter may be whether or not Strider left his name off the corporate documents so he could bid for military contracts as alleged by at least one person on here. I don't think that rule is absolutely the best, but it is a rule. He is not on the documents and yet he had a lot of contact with the agents and employees of the "buyer", or so it would appear. There is a serious questionas to whether Strider should lose whatever contract they have and be barred from future contracts.

Holy Shit, a Blast from the Past. Long time no see, Chief. Good on you for cutting straight through the bullshit.

One of the greatest knife makers who ever lived is crucified. I feel like I am in the coliseum in Early Rome and we just caught us a Christian, so lets feed him to the lions.
:jerkit: :jerkit: :jerkit:

Nice sense of drama here. :D

yeah.....i can never use that "When in Rome" line about my home town because i live in the Tampa area...yeah, i know...juvenile.......lol

I have never met Mick but have had several email correspondences with him and I consider him to be a very good man.

I have met some very good men, but I was never able to tell that after just a few emails. After a few emails, all I can say is whether they're probably OK. You need to raise your requirements.

Ok or just real smooth:thumbup:

25 pages and counting ..... and still waiting for any of the vocal Strider apologists to refute a single one of Spark's points.

Bro...Strider has never apologize as far as I can tell.......language in a settlment document signed in order to get rid of a lawsuit does NOT count and I am not sure that he "aplogized" even in that.

Ain't that the truth. That apology is about as valid as a disgruntled x wife's testimony in an alimony or custody battle.

I think you misunderstand my use of the term "apologist" - a person who argues to defend or justify some policy or institution; "an apologist for capital punishment". That is to say, the Strider faithful have made a lot of noise, but have avoided taking on any of the points Spark made at the outset and refuting it.

I get that he's never apologized for lies told in order to sell knives.

I know what you mean't Roger......I just saw an opportunity....Muah, Ha, Ha, Ha:p Is "apologist" a strong enough term or should we perhaps use "disciple" or "syncophant"? lol

Sycophant is the exact term I used when I shut down the Strider Forum in 2003. Mick Strider's behavior now is no different than back then. I only wish I'd had the knowledge then that I have today.

This is the most disgusting thread i have ever read on a knife forum.

This thread was started by Spark, the owner of Blade Forums. The

stench will not soon be forgotten. :barf:

You guys are getting in too many big words on me. Had to look that one up. :D Sycophant = in a nut shell 'oxygen thief'

I had my SMF folder out today. Cut a bunch of cat 5 wire in a large bundle.
Opened a lot of boxes on a big Department wide move. Knife worked Great.

In fact several people commented on it. One guy asked where he could get one.

I guess my question is this, If I still like Strider folders a lot will I be the subject of ridicule here for that? Will I still be able to buy and sell them here as a very wise poster asked not long ago?

Is this going ANYWHERE? Will ANYTHING be changed?

I am still going to take my folder to work in the morning.

This appears to be an extremely polarizing thread. I am curious if there's any Strider fans that have a changed opinion of Mick and Strider Knives in general after these revelations? I don't think I've seen any evidence of it yet on this thread, but I suppose it's possible.

As for me, Strider lost me as a customer after the "lick my sack" comment last year. I didn't know anything about his checkered past or stretching the truth then. That comment he made to an unhappy customer was all it took for me to adequately judge his character and change my buying habits.

This has also made me think about the true heroes who have served. I am not a vet and have not served. But has anybody read Flag's of our Fathers? It was the story of Marines (mostly) that took Iwo Jima during WWII. That battle was extremely costly in terms of American lives, but served to open the air for US bombing runs on mainland Japan. The author of the book was the son of one of the men who raised the flag on the Island in that famous photo. He and his siblings didn't even know about his dad's medal of honor until they found it in a shoebox in his closet after his death. Imagine that.

But I understand it a bit as my own father was one of the first US troops to occupy Japan in WWII and he also was very silent about his service. I'm amazed at the character and humility of the people who have done heroic things and didn't want to talk about it. But I am even more amazed by those that did little but would make us think otherwise.

What? Are you saying that nothing said here has merit? I challenge you to correct anything I've put together on here. Support your position, sir, or admit you are wrong.

You admit your wrong, sir. You have proven less than nothing to me.

I find this whole thread absurd.

I do not have to support any position, it is you sir, who need to support your position. I have read and reread "YOUR" position when all I see is an axe to grind.

I do see your position as a business owner. Create a circus. Create a Coliseum. They will come. When there nothing left of substance it's time to recreate our business as " THE NATIONAL INQUIRER" of the knife world.

I stand by Strider knives. It is that simple. My beliefs will never change.
