Kumdo. I didn't mean to come across as adversarial. Not my intent at all so forgive that if interpretted wrong. I think its sad that we haven't gotten far in 27 pages but progress and new things have come out of this. Sometimes getting dirty is necessary. Read Mick's own words. He said it best.

You know him. I don't. What I've seen on the posts he has made here and elsewhere was anything but enough to even allow the word nice in my head. He must be a Jekyl and Hide from the keyboard to in person is all I can figure. Still, even knowing that he was like that didn't prevent me from buying his knives until my own family started giving me grief over them. My family is the issue for me.

To me, this is a VERY important element to the big picture, and something that has been basically ignored throughout this endless thread.

The above examples are just a small portion of the amount of generosity and displays of good character from Mick.

Listen, I have no dog in this fight. My only motive is to hopefully help show the whole story. I am not close buddies with Mick, although I do consider him a friend; as do many, many other knife makers, knife enthusiasts, dealers and people otherwise involved in the field.

I honestly do not know of a more generous person in the knife industry. And I am not just talking about his donations of money and knives to various causes. More so than any other knife maker, he is known for helping people, for bending over backwards to give back to the community. He has personally helped me on several occasions. It seems like half of the “new” makers I talk to have said the same thing. Again and again, I have heard examples his generosity. He’s also a very nice guy, although you might not guess it from his posts; he’s not the most eloquent speaker/writer. In cyberspace its really easy to think you understand a situation or know a person, based some anonymous entity looming over a keyboard. Things are not always what they seem.

Again, I don’t want to debate what’s already been beaten into the ground here. I just think it’s important, as Lifter said, to know the whole story. I just wanted to pipe in with my own limited experiences. You’re all welcome to pass judgment based on the man’s past, and on copy & pastes from the nether-regions of the net, but for me what really matters is who this person really is IN REAL LIFE. None of this ugly shit can change that.

This does raise some questions as to whether he does this out of a sense of altruism or just to perpetuate the big lie that his life and business have apparently been for a number of years....some thing to think about.

The subject is Mr. Strider -- and, to be sure, the often expressed high regard for him, a regard based almost exclusively (thus far) upon his reported good works and kindnesses.

Classically, you wish to impune the motives of those who call Mr. Strider to give an account, although the claimed evidence of mispresentatrion contains not a single piece of testimony from those persons. The facts thus far come from sources of public record and from Mr. Strider himself, conceding that you claim, in part, that he must have agreed to false statements of fact in a civil court proceeding.

The subject is not your God, or am I mistaken?


Why would anyone wish to know if another person repeatedly misrepresented facts? Perhaps because that would impact their willingness to believe what that person says on other topics. Or not.

The inquiry here is not based on "copy & pastes from the nether-regions of the net."

It's based mostly on the writings that Slicksleeves Strider pulled out of the nether regions of his own backside.

I can only call the continued ignorance on this point by Striderettes. . .intentional.

Wow... I've read some internet accusations before that are easily filed under "Things You Wouldn't Have The Balls To Say In Person", but that takes the cake.

Reading that actually made me feel a little sick to my stomach. Bravo.

You know for someone who's made a couple comments about testicular fortitude, then got called on your 2 paycheck bet, you certainly don't have much credibility.

So tell me, do you have anything productive or constructive to add, or are you just here to try to distract people from the subject?
 
Here, here, Mr. Linton. I was thinking that If Mr Strider had either admitted to his past up front OR never made any of the claims in question, then I wouldn't have a problem with him making knives and selling them to our men and women in uniform. I STILL don't have a problem with him making knives. But then I got to thinking. If he had not run around for the past 8 years making these claims, would anyone be talking about him at all? How much of his huge success has to do with his knives and how much of it has to do with the masterful PR job he has down? How do his knives differ from the tactical knives made by many honest knifemakers who labor in relative obscurity while this guy essentially bullshits his way into becoming the next Bo Randall?

Oh, so because it's cut and paste, it's not true? I'm going to give you one last chance.

Reconcile Mick Strider claiming to be a combat veteran, his admitting he isn't in a lawsuit settlement, and his refusal to provide something so simple as an unredacted DD214 to show that he's entitled to that award.

If you refuse to answer this, I'm going to just flat out assume you are here to do nothing more than troll up this thread and distract from the issue, and will ask you to leave since you obviously have nothing to contribute.

On the contrary, I think the Strider boy response seen thus far, especially the illogical hyperbole, was to be expected. It built a knife company didn't it?

Boats, I only have one Strider and I am dissatisfied with it. It has very poor corrosion resistance and shows wear after medium use. I am in no way a Strider fan, I am just giving my observations. This forum needs help.

First off, of COURSE I wasn't seriously entertaining a wager with you... it was blatant hyperbole, and everyone here seemed to catch that but you. The fact that you continue to dwell on something so inconsequential speaks volumes.

Second, THERE IS NOTHING CONSTRUCTIVE OR PRODUCTIVE ABOUT THIS THREAD AT ALL. Zero. Are anyone's aims furthered by this? Will anything positive come from anything that has been written here? Has some justice been served? The answers to these questions is, obviously, no.

I think your defensiveness arises from the realization that while you've definitely succeeded in creating more enemies for Mr. Strider, you've also managed to do the very same thing for yourself... in your own forum, no less.

Nobody here on this thread is questioning or disputing the quality of Strider Knives. If you want to read about that topic go find one of several threads concerning that issue as they make interesting reading as well.

The copy and pastes ARE MOSTLY OF MICKEY RAY BURGER'S OWN GODDAMNED WRITINGS!

I knew the Striderettes would show up, just didn't anticipate they were so collectively dense.
