Mick Strider has some explaining to do.

Mark off a spot, you're all ass. Perhaps you should get together with Mick, between sack licking and arse kissing you could have a gay old time.

Let's stay on-topic, stick to the facts in evidence, and avoid personal attacks, please.

That sort of personal attack gives the appearance that your arguments themselves are weak and so you have to resort to name-calling. You'll do better to stay on-topic and stick to the facts.

That said though, don't pretend that being a member there means that all of your information has been heavily vetted. We've already had that discussion, posers get by real-deal operators all the time - see the former Curator / con-man of the SEAL museam

Mr. Spark. Come on. This crap-fest regarding Mick has been out there for years. Literally years at this point. You don't think the gents in there haven't done their homework on Mr. Mick? In fact put him under MORE scrutiny than most others? You think you can vet someone's background better than a bunch of men who wear a Green Beret?

Someone asked me recentlyy if there wasnt even a tiny part of me that was nagged by any doubts whatsoever about Mick and his claims. ;) I can honestly tell you, no. I'm not nagged by ANY doubts. Because I know more than some people do, and he passes. I know a lot less than the SF Soldiers that vett people do.... and he passes with them too. Why is that?

Still waiting for your answers Michelle.

Are the things Mick has written in various spots on the internet "hearsay?"

Has someone been impersonating Mick all of these years in all of these forums?

Okay Boats that does it.

You've worn me down. I can't stand it anymore. I swore I would NEVER reveal this information, but you have forced my hand with your unbelievable relentless and pointed and cleverly lawerly (is that a word?) pursuit of truth, justice, and the American Way.

I am the owner of Strider knives. I've been impersonating Mick AND Duane allll these years. I hire actors to be all these various different people at knife shows. Sometimes people mess up their lines. Sometimes *I* mess up my lines. Fortunately though, I have enough money that I have been able to pay off a great faction of the U.S. Military, as well as Special Forces soldiers, well respected knife makers, and Bohica2u, so they would keep my secret.

Damn you man!

I'm outted!

Please pass the waffles.

Seriously, I am making a point about what Mick does, which is this:

"Look at my left hand, while I pull off this trick with my right hand!"

Mick seems to have plenty of cannon fodder to send over here to protect HIS honor (like I said, he does not know the meaning of it). The playstation SOCOM Navy SEALs sites are a hotbed for recruiting in Mick's Ranger army, I see.

Booted out as an E-1 equals "shitbird".

Edit: I apologize to Mickey and cleaned this post up a bit. The rest stays.

Amen to that!

I personally am pissed by all this. I have been in the navy for 18 and some change now, and I love knives. I loved Strider Knives. They are damn good tough tools, and I have even defended their durability here. I fail to see why Mick felt the need to do this to himself. There are three things that I consider to be paramount in my training over the years and they are HONOR, COURAGE, AND COMMITMENT! Good knives sell. They always do. The facade was completely unnecessary. I would have bought one regardless. BUSSE (whom I favor no more or less than Strider) never claims military prowess at all, and look at the devotion his knives get. Weird in a way, but to each his own.

My point is that Mick has compromised his honor, and that weighs heavy with me. What's more is I cannot stand a guy who makes these kinds of claims. They always get found out, and they always come across as some kind of playground bully. Sure Mick can probably hold his own in a bar fight. He is probably one tough customer. I have seen a lot of them in my day. There is always some kid that either thinks he's cool and tries to emulate that tough guy image, or some kid that is so scared of him that he takes up a gun and equilizes things. In MHO the whole thing was unnecessary and bad for business. I refuse to buy a knife from the guy.

Too bad. Honor is important to some in this great nation!

Every time I see the title of this thread I think of Ricky Ricardo. "Lucy, you have some splaining to do."

Sorry for the brief intermission, you can now return to your regularly scheduled programming.

digitalrebelttu & Wolfmann, maybe you could get a room ... or failing that, at least you could resort to email....

I apologize also. I joined here for the love of knives and NON-Criminal lawyers tend to always get under my thin skin. Won't happen again.

Wow Michelle! You really got me! Wow! Seriously, I am making a point about what Mick does.

No. You're not. Other people here are making a point about Mick. Some of it is good, some some of it is bad. But they are adding infomation of some pertinence to the discussion.

You, however, are making nothing more..... than an idiot of yourself.

Mick Strider directly lied about me, my site, and did everything in his power to drive people away from here. Do I hold that against him? Sure. That doesn't negate that he's the one who lied about getting sentenced to Somalia, being a combat vet, and whatever else. Furthermore, this isn't exactly a shocking departure of behavior for him, as seen in 2005, 2006, and now. His behavior hasn't changed one iota.
After all the bluster and pages of posts, this is all that is left of the 14 points listed at the start of this thread - you THINK (NO PROOF OFFERED TO THE SUPPORT THE ACCUSATION) that he lied about the plea bargain; you want him to own up to the "combat vet" statements (ALTHOUGH YOU'VE SHOWN NO EVIDENCE HE SAID IT WAS IN UNIFORM, EVER); you THINK (NO PROOF OFFERED TO SUPPORT THE SUPPOSITION) that he alludes to spec op experience during '86 to '93 - a time period that you and Lynn's PI admit you know nothing of what he did; you mistakenly THINK he started Strider Knives with Duane in '98, even though the record is clear they started before he went to the pen; you THINK he should have known about knife mags before '93; you now agree he is a Ranger; and you THINK (NO EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT THE CLAIM) that Duane's record counted for zero, and Mick's having been a Ranger counts for all the success of their company.

You don't think Mad Dog's completely fictitious claims of having been a "professional soldier" for six years merits similar treatment to protect the honor of our veterans. You don't try to protect those same veterans from the innuendo and outright lies of other well known knifemakers when it comes to their connections with the SpecWar community. Just this one maker, the one you admit called you names on your own forum, he's the one they need protection from?

Have you alway been completely honest here? Is calling yourself the "owner" of Bladeforums the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth? Or should that a read, "an owner", to denote that others are also owners of it, as you have stated in the past? You live in a glass house.

I would also like to thank Gollnick for acting in a decent manner in this thread, and trying to keep it civil. I certainly wish the rule here was say what you wish, but only that which you would say in person. The coward who keeps railing against Ira, a wounded in the line of duty policeman, should be ashamed of himself, is but one example of it.

Yes, he has. He had to allocute in a court settlement that, in fact, he had no combat experience. .

Overlooking the use of the word "allocute" (I will have to GOOGLE it later), if a guy, , or should I say-
If ANY guy states in a court of law that he had "combat experience' when he knew for a fact they he had none, this would truly be telling a lie.

Saying things on the internet, or padding one's history slightly to sell yourself in a better light is not really the same thing.

Every used car I owned was owned before me by a little old lady who only drove it to church on Sunday.
Because, Thats what they tell me

(I guess I'm the only person on the earth that drives the piss out of each of his cars untill I cant get it to even start one more time, and only then I trade it off ?)

The beer I got in my fridge at the moment was seen on TV with girls and big horses and all kinds of fun/fast things connected with it.
But the truth is that NONE of such things are in any way connected to the beer that sits in my darkened basement fridge.

There are no girls
No big horses
no fast cars
no rock songs with a pickup tossing rocks behind it.

It's just some cans in the dark.

But in America we like to have an "image" to connect to a thing we are selling.
People that think they should believe one word of the things they read on the internet are in for a let down.

You cant believe anyone...

Telling your friends that you are a combat vet with medals doesn't help either.

Im sure that any trip to the local VFW will turn up many such tall stories about forgotten battles as well.
Im sure not going to jump on a vet because he might change a few things from time to time to make the same old story more fun to tell.

I mean, it's his friends he is talking to then you say?

I believe that a bigger error would be to claim a Purple Heart, or something along them lines...
something that you might lay a claim to in a lie that others can only claim for real with their blood.

Alan, thanks for educating us about American marketing, but I do not think the supporters of Mr. Strider want to place him in the used car salesman category.

Reading this thread first didn´t gave me any good vibes at all about this place... Kind of infected as it seems...

kinda sad, isn't it. i wonder how many other people will come here and feel the same way, and not give this place a chance because of the way this thread has degenerated. i don't have a horse in this race, i found this thread somewhat amusing in the beginning but it became a farce about 35 pages ago. like the old saying goes, arguing on the internet is like running in the special olympics, even if you win you're still retarded.

i'm going to take my knives and go play somewhere else for a while.

Jbravo.... Spark thought MadDog could give him some pertinent information in exchange for a 5 year free Knifemaker subscription to this forum. Why would he call attention to the ficticious claims of someone he *thought* could be an important ally in the GWOS?

Again, for the record, Mr. McClung never served in any capacity for his Country with any branch of the United States Military, despite his claims of many years as a "professional soldier".

But that's ok. Our indignation should NOT be accross-the-board. Come on Jbravo... git with the program!

Don't kid yourselves. This thread isn't going to put even a slight dent in this forum or the number of new members. In fact I've seen several new members lately since this thread began. Most of them could give a rats a$$ about the topic or those involved.

Its the biggest forum on the net for knives. Not only that but a lot of guys make so much money from this forum alone, some without even advertising other than being a member here that they wouldn't think to leave it or try due to that much needed thing we all crave. $

okay. I'm SUPER sorry about being normal human, dont care about discourse for a moment here... BUT THAT IS THE FUNNIEST THING EVER! I dont care which side of this argument you're on.

I have some cans in the dark downstairs... Imma gonna go grab one. I'll let you all know if the Draft Horses show up.

Wouldn't that make SKI Remington Steele?:D

I like you despite our differences over Mick Strider. You obviously have a sense of humor. From reading Mick's posts at badlands off and on over the past few days, he has one too. I can't stand people who can't laugh, even over the "serious" stuff. My problem is maybe my own, but I don't like being lied to, even indirectly.

But you are not him as much as you want me to believe that you are.:p

Since you actually write stuff out and since you've given us the most plausible explanation of Strider's spooky beginnings across many threads, I'm going to quit calling you a Striderette, though by gender you actually are one of the few who automatically qualify.

It ain't much, but it's all I got. We'll always have Mick as a point of contention, but I have nothing against you.

Alan, thanks for educating us about American marketing, but I do not think the supporters of Mr. Strider want to place him in the used car salesman category.

EVERYONE is in that same category on the internet!
Trusting one bloody word people post on-line is for the birds.
One of the first lessons I taught my family when we got a computer is, "Trust no one"
The internet is filled with fools, liers, jerks and perverts.
It's a lesson you have to learn, that people on the internet cant be trusted.
They dont use their real names, they dont use their real personal historys, and they dont tell the truth.

They sell....
They sell themselves off as an image to get the reaction they seek out of us.
Look how many more myths now are there in our lives compared to before the internet?

Have you [Spark] alway been completely honest here? ... You live in a glass house.

Spark's character doesn't matter because the accusations he has made do not depend on it. He accusations are supported by apparently-credible, documentary evidence. Even if Spark is a dirty, rotten, scoundrel, that doesn't change the apparent verasity of the accusations because they are not supported by his character but by that documentary evidence.

Spark's character is not an off-limit's topic on bf.c by any means. You could start a separate thread. But I would strongly suggest that you do as he has and stick to credibility, documentary evidence and avoid hearsay, rummor-mongering, and name-calling.

I would also like to thank Gollnick for acting in a decent manner in this thread, and trying to keep it civil.

Thank you for your very kind words. As you might imagine, I've received some less-than-complimentary feedback from some people. As I often say, I know I'm being fair if everyone is made at me. Your compliment is very much appreciated.
