No legal jargon intended. As a matter of substance, I just doubt there was any "claim" involved other than in the Complaint, just things that might have come out in the course of litigating the plaintiff's claims. Unless you know there was a counterclaim by SKI, et al. or a cross-claim between the defendants (seems unlikely).

I have contributed all of about six posts to this thread, most of them discussing areas concerning my specialty in the Navy(admin work).

It is my belief, based upon the facts, that Mick got himself/SKI tangled up in an untruth that became self-perpetuating. This bothers me, a great deal, on many levels.

I will not, however, turn my back on a man that has done me no wrong, and say that I don't like him any more, that would not be true. I do wish him the best, and sincerely hope that SKI can weather the storm, continuing to do the good deeds that they do, maybe Mick can lay off the embellishment, now that it is out there.

I admire all that Mr. Strider has accomplished. He's pulled himself up by his bootstraps. He's a self-made man. He's become a respected knife designer and respected knife maker. He's been a key part of building the company that bears his name into a successful, going, American-based, manufacturing company known for high-quality products, a reliable defense-contractor, and good employeer. He's a charitable man, done many good things, and has been a good friend to many. I too wish that he would just come clean on all of this once and for all. I, for one, would only admire him more for that.

I wouldn't expect you to ask Doc anything right now. All he needs is the support of his friends and family in his time of need and upcoming sorrow. I asked that my prayers be convayed to him and his family in an earlier post.

What I was asking about was how someone could post something like that when any such action like it has been denied by Mick. It seems there are 2 different sides to him and the 2 shall never meet. I spent enough time at Badlands and a few other sites to see that Mick is a caring generous person. I also saw the other side that says he is an asshole and either an operator or poser, some times in the same thread.

I am not even sure why I am persuing this still, it would be very easy to just say he is a poser and walk away. Yet I see the number of people who believe in him despite everything and wonder if there is something I am missing.

I guess in the long run none of this matters that much it will all come out in the wash eventually, it always does.

Have a great evening and please pass on my thoughts and prayers to Doc. After all no matter what peoples differences we are all humen with the same desires, feelings and sorrows as the one next to or across from us.

The market for $300.00+ tacticals is not that enormous. Imagine if SKI, over time, gets tagged as a knife made by a poser for posers, or government contracts are quietly dropped over time.

If the civvie wannabes don't buy down the road at the prices commanded, SKI will contract.

Remember, I said "imagine." I am not taking bets. However, fallout from controversy is unpredictable.

The secondary market will be interesting to follow over the next couple of years if the controversy rages on.

Yes you are missing that in some people's opinion he makes a great product. Obvious right? or he wouldn't be running a successful business. You don't like his stuff, his behavior, his past, don't buy his stuff. That's your choice.

I agree. The man produced an honest product and treated his customers well. So what if we discover that he has a bit of Walter Mitty in him; if he had a thousand medals on his chest by what strange quirk of physics would his knives behaive differently? Whatever his origins, these are time tested knives; and, even if we doubt that Mick served in the military as billed, his knives certainly have both served and performed.

I, for one, would probably settle for him just not perpetuating the aforementioned line of BS and stick to making knives. I have two autistic boys and had I heard about his work elsewhere, I would have gone over, shook his hand and thanked him personally at Blade. I may still do that, but after all of this, I fear that I might have an unatural urge to go wash my hands afterwards.

Really? If Jane Fonda or someone with similar past trangressions championed a favorite cause of yours, how would you feel? And which part of the gtatement did you find offenive? The one where i said I would be satisfied if he stopped lying and offending a goodly number of the very same people he claims to support or the part where I said that I would have very mixed feelings about meeting him?

You seem to have a fixation with me now. Why? I brought up that the DD-214 DID NOT match the other document in question concerning Micks service dates. Then you bring up an old post about me, again.

THEN you make a roundabout stab at Coasties (Sledgehammer? kinda denigrating, I think), making a correct guess at my service at the same time (wow, you looked at my avatar). Are coasties lesser than Spec Ops people? SEALs? Air Force? I guess you think so. Since you have no idea of what myself and others have done, I am going to let you keep talking.

Like I said, Mick must be a stand up guy to have others do his fighting. Does he REALLY have your back........?
