While these are nefarious if true, what bothers me about Strider is making stainless prybar knives made from the latest steel, first ATS34,then briefly from BG84 when it was considered the Holy Graal for a few months, and now S30V.I bought a skeletal 5160 Siegle Utility ,wrapped it with 550 and have a knife that Strider SHOULD HAVE made for a half the price.Hey beats me I like it here, KF's, and really like the JD. As for Strider b.s.ing his military career that doesn't bother me. His knives don't bother me as they must be ok as a ton of people buy them. Not his loosing the slander court case, that doesn't bother me. What bothers me is that he did 5yrs in Lewisburg for a car jacking! That bothers me. Other than that everything is alright with me. keepem sharp
PS Strider has responded to this post on the USN. What everyone is saying here everyone is saying over there too only in the affirmative for him. Like I said my only conern is the car jacking thing. Weird ain't it. The only other thing I can think of saying as I have seen a few USN'rs on here is that there is definetly no honor in carjacking a vehicle.
Michelle,
Maybe you should PM or e-mail Spark on that. Let's try to keep this thread on-topic. Thank you.
Any ex-con can have his rights restored by the state after so many years. I can't say thats what Mick has done, but it is legal.

Next I called the special warefare center at Ft Bragg, in the past they have helped me contact old classmates of mine, I was referred by them to the Rangers.org web site (large alumni base info and records) that linked me to the U.S. Army Infantry website, that gave me the contact I needed at Ft Benning Georgia, to a Public Affairs officer and a operations officer incharge of the ACAP ( alumni and career placement), because of Mick's involment with the Ranger challenge and sponsorship they could tell me from a previous press release( a Bio) that they did on him ,the following info, His MOS was infantry, he graduated airborne training, graduated Ranger school, served in a Ranger Battalion and was honorable discharged. If you search there Army news paper archieve you will find the same info, also there is a photo of him and his graduating class and photo's of the Ranger challenge events.
I will report this fairly and unbiased though, no mention of combat service, I cannot confirm or verify the validity of that information.
I will stick to my original opinion, I like the guy, I have had good dealings with him, his products and the company, much better service and delivery times than half of the knifemakers I have been waiting three plus years to make and deliver a knife. He his doing a bang up job supporting our troops, law enforcement and the overall American way of life. I really dont care about what a man did 20 years ago, its what he is doing right now to make a differnce
With all due respect Sir..... where were you when other threads were getting hopelessly derailed and off-topic?
Why is my post held to a standard that other posts and threads are not?
What we are dealing with is someone who is claiming to be honest and above-board, and interested in "outing" someone else who is not. But there is already a chink in the armor of honesty by the "altruistic outter".
Why do we require that matter go to PM, when others of a similar vein don't have to?
OK, I have read everything and still don't see any lie proven.
It has been confirmed he was in the Army, in the Ranger Battalion, and discharged honorably
His MOS was infantry, he graduated airborne training, graduated Ranger school, served in a Ranger Battalion and was honorable discharged. The big hangup seems to be did he do extra-military combat. No-one on this or any of the other threads has shown what he did 86-92. As others have said, it generally takes a secret clearance to get into these outfits, maybe he isn't inclined or allowed to talk about details.
So we have a mans word (granted a lot of individuals have tried to rip that down) against no evidence. Everything else he has said is true. People have wanted to read more into statements made by him, but I am not seeing it.
So I will look to the evidence showing his statements to be true as far as evidence shows, and look at his current character, and what he does for the military and others, and make the judgement.
Please, if you have information, say something that shows Mick on a beach somewhere surfing during the years not shown, please show it. Otherwise, please show me an untruth told by Mick that you evidence isn't true. Not that his DD214 form is in lower case (the quote above shows that it is accurate) or the form date is older than you thought it should be.
WRT the lawsuit, anyone can sue, and it can be expensive to defend, maybe that's why he settled the way he did. Only him and Chris can confirm/deny the reasons.

Excuse me for my relative ignorance. I had only read about his problems with the criminal justice system....Mr. Linton, those are exactly the facts I'm talking about. They've been out there all along, and have CERTAINLY been in plain view for more than a year. If you didn't know about them, I'm sorry. *I* knew about them, and I'm HARDLY an expert.
...What would a true friend counsel him to do in his own best interests?
I am a pretty selfish guy. I joined Blade Forums to learn more about blaksmithingknives. So far, from what I read on the subject of blacksmithing/knives on this forum. It is a good place to learn. I see lots of examples of very nice knives crafted that I would only hope to be able to make one day. I have read quite a few post about this Strider guy. I dont care about him one way or another. I have enough trouble taking care of my family, paying bills, working, etc to concern myself with another guys morals. I will never fit into the mold of the collectors who can pay premium dollars for a knife. I wish I could, but I know my limitations when it comes to financial matters. Please dont take this post as anything other than a plea to get back to knife making. I beg of you to show pics of your styles, how-to, and other stuff. I am here in Iraq. I do have internet access and am trying to make the most of my time behind a computer while I am over here. So, the more I read on custom knife making, the more I might soak into this hard head of mine. I only worry about what I have direct control over.
