Microtech Warranty Delay Apparently Continues

I bought 2 LUDTs brand new from Blade HQ. Flicked each open a few dozen times, never cut anything, and both springs broke in less than 2 months. Tried contacting them, e mail and phone, and never heard back.
Last Microtechs I buy.

As a guy who has owned over 150 L UDTs, I gotta tell you I find this hard to believe. Two broken springs in a row? Pretty rare
 
I am unaware if they sell replacement pocket clips.
Sell them? Yep. $20 for a black pocket clip for a UTX-85, and $25 for a black glass breaker. AND... they wanted me to send the knife in to get it swapped out. Mail my brand new knife in and have it disappear for who-know-how-long after spending $45 to have all black? No thanks. I'll just send the pocket clip to a 3rd party coating company some time to get a DLC treatment when I send in my Benchmade deep carry clips for DLC... those clips that were sent to me for free...

I thought the same thing, believe me. Sent one to Jon at auto knife.com for him to fix. He did a great job for $85. I was going to send him the other one, but he sent me the tools he machined and a couple extra springs.
I asked him about the broken springs and he told me it is happening more frequently in the newer models. He stopped selling MT products because of it.
Didn't realize he was sending the tools and springs before I spoke to Blade HQ. Shipped the second one to them and they are going to deal with MT for me.
Jon sent the broken spring back to me.
Here's the broken spring with the tools and new spring from Jon.....little thicker than the stock one.
Don't forget.....2 brand new knives that never cut a thing and were NOT obsessively opened!

The other one, on its way beck to Blade HQ, is red plain edge. They were both made 01/16 and were bought brand new from BHQ.
Neither one lasted a month.

I agree, it's very odd. After speaking with Blade HQ and Jon from autoknife though.....not so odd.
I'm so curious to see how long this will take.
The knife will be at BHQ to tomorrow.
 
FINALLY the day has come! It's back! Their claims from back and in April were accurate, new lock tab installed and torx pivot was swapped out for proprietary version. Lock rock and blade play are completely fixed, and is sharper than even originally from the factory when purchased. Still slightly disappointed as they didn't check the pocket clip, it's got a little movement, so I guess I'll be ordering the triangle tool soon.
