Midwest gathering???

Just got back from a family reunion in the quad cities, I zipped over to loud thunder and snapped some pics of the camp area. They aparently had a huge storm that fell abunch of trees, and most of the sites were trashed and closed. Should be open up by the gathering though...... Ill post some pics in a bit.

I may be able to be there for a while on Saturday, if all goes well. Been wanting to meet some people from here.

I'm gonna try to make it. I've wanting to meet some of the people on this forum for a while. I live about 4 hours south of Loud Thunder in Il. I can bring a truck load of wood if its needed. My plan is to get there Fri. @ 10:00 -11:00 and leave Sun. Looking forward to the first aid class. One more thing as I have never been to Loud Thunder, is potable water available on site?

Yep, there is water available, Look forward to seeing you there. I posted some pics of the site in another thread on here a few days ago.

Guys, I got home a couple hours ago to find one of my good friends was killed in a wreck. I dont have many details, but it looks like I might not be able to make it to this. Its not in stone, but I will probably have to go out of town for the service. If its at all possible, I will still make the trip, if not, I am sorry, and I hope all of you have a safe trip..........

You have my sincerest sympahties j williams. Losing a friend like that is very tragic and its suddeness can be difficult to come to terms with. I wish you the best! Take it easy and keep a bit of time for yourself to think of the best of times of your friendship.

Will do guys. Thanks for understanding. I deal with these things well. Loss is a big part of my job, always comes when you least suspect it though. He was an ol buddy, havent seen him in a while, but talked quite a bit. I knew his parents very well too. Used to hang at his house all the time when we were young. He was a good dude.

Hey jw. I don't know why I read this thread, living in Ontario and all, but I did. I'm really sorry to hear you lost a buddy. Even though you might not have hung out that much together of late, it sucks that, now, you won't be able to.

I've been there, probably most of us have, doesn't diminish the loss at all!

Better days ahead!
