MJ&S Knives? Whats going on?

This was my post about MJ&S knives. Or the lack thereof. Please keeps posts on topic, and email all personal battles among yurselves without posting them please, I don't want this thread locked. By the way, I still have no order, email, reply, etc.

Getting grey hairs waiting. Way to go Mark!!

Well, as regards to me, I'm completely satisfied. Mark gave me the option of canceling the order and reimbursing my credit card since the knives weren't in stock. Well, he didn't take long in doing as he promised, as my credit has been reimbursed.

It's true what they say, guys. Although maybe a bit late in these instances, Mark will do right for you.

Thanks Mark, and all of you guys for bringing attention to these problems so they can be solved ASAP.

Haha, this guy is really pretty funny. Mr. Harikari, I am having difficulties keeping pace here. That is why I said I was confused, in case you didn't notice.

I still don't see why you can't just type Chang. My name really isn't Chang Wang. As for playing in traffic, last week my friend was messing around in traffic and he got whacked by a car, so I'm not feeling too inclined at the moment to play in traffic.

Also, I've ordered from Mark and received very good service and good prices. I think you're just using this one screw up as an opportunity to be obnoxious. Chill out a bit, everyone makes mistakes. You seem pretty proud of your immature temper problems as well. Most of us don't see going to a post office and screaming profanities at three seperate postal employees to be mature behavior. And with an attitude as bad as yours, I can understand why Mark didn't try to make it up to you to keep you as a customer. Maybe the stress of listening to you is too great to be worth it.

I called MJSknives for the 20th time to tell him that I was right and he had my f-ing knife

If you actually called him on the phone and asked him if he "had your f***ing knife," maybe it was your poor manners that made him disinclined to keep you as a customer?

jgs9455 is making a reasonable request. We don't like to censor posts or ban members here at Bladeforums so I'm trying another approach: I've started a new thread for Harikari to criticize other members and for other members to criticize him: http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum25/HTML/000986.html Please confine ALL such criticisms to that thread so you won't be cluttering up on-topic threads and the people who are interested in knife dealers won't have to sort through a lot of off-topic stuff to find the information they're after.

Please don't get this thread locked. This is the only contact with folks who feel my pain...Perhaps folks who are not waiting for an order from Mark should go to whine & cheese where they can flame each other as much as is neccessary.

Bteel's post crossed with mine.... I thought of trying to get people to take the off-topic nonsense to Whine & Cheese instead of starting a new thread for it here, but I'm afraid they probably don't want it there, either, and I don't want to get into another thread-kicking war with Tim -- LOL!

Just another e-mail in defense of Mark. We have dealt about 10-15 times in the past, ALWAYS with good results. MJS and I have an issue right now with the post office messing up a large order, and he gave me his word he would make good. I have NO reason to think he won't. People in these forums generally keep their word, and Mark has a good reputation.

So let's have some patience (believe me, I know it's hard sometimes) and give him some time to get his act and business back together. Remember, we ALL go through tough times. Thanks for listening to my rambling.

Well I am sick of betting on a horse that doesn't pay off. Marc is unprofessional, and in my eyes a liar. He might be having problems, but he is making things worse by trashing his reputation. Don't order from Marc, he can't handle the demands of a business. His customer service sucks, and he doesn't do what he says. No email answers, no phone calls answered, nothing. He even told me that he would ship my order after almost a month of nothing (he said then that he was out) and guess what- nothing.By the way, his phone numbers no longer work. You decide. I disputed the charges on my credit card. I will be taking my business to someone else that wants it. Sorry for all of you that like him, I don't see it.

I understand where you're coming from jgs...this isn't like the Mark I know. I only hope he comes back, full-force, and makes it up to you, and the others.

Mark can't make it up to me. I doubt he cares. I have sent email messages and left voice mails. I can't wait forever. I reversed the charges and I have already ordered from www.onestopknifeshop.com. They cost the same, and it will be here by monday.
They can also ship automatics to me here in Florida, no big deal (we are both in Florida). They answer their phone and emails, which is more than I can say for MJ&S Knives. Mark has lost a customer, and I will recomend to others that he is unprofessional and for them not to do bussiness with him. All I have to do is tell them my story and show them this thread. Its the truth, and I tried to be patient with him. I do hope he works out his problems though, for his sake.

jgs9455, agreed. State the facts and your experience and let other potential customers make up their own minds. I'll say for myself, I thought about getting mad, but figured it wouldn't improve the situation and I didn't need to burst a blood vessel over the situation.

You live and learn...

Has anyone received their orders from MJ&s since this thread started? My credit card was charged on August 24th but no knive as of today. I e-mailed Mark about my order-no reply. I have not been waiting as long as others for their merchandise but I have waited long enough. I will send one final e-mail to Mark regarding my order. I have been following this thread since it started. This was my first order with MJ&S. I will not wait much longer.

The word from Mark is that he has been quite busy with a move and has not been able to access the Internet during that time.

Mark is aware of our concerns and is working to resolve them.

Like others, I've finally heard from Mark, and due to his inability to post and e-mail, he asked me to post this message in his behalf.

MJ&S knives has went through some major changes in the past 2 weeks. most of
which is for the best others turned out to be much much worse. we bought a
new location which gave us the ability to hire more staff and speed up
delivery time by a couple days. in recent past we have gotten swamped to the
point that we were taking up to 3 days to get instock orders out the door
and for the ones that were backordered even longer. now by doing this i have
exspanded the inventory as far as we could at this time this again is
better for the consumer. heres where things started to get ruff. our lease
was up at the old place and the closeing pushed us into a postion of haveing
to move with in a few days. when we got here and got things semi set up we
found out that it would be up to 2 weeks just for 1 phone line much less the
6 that normally use here. we placed everything on high priority however we
are still waiting.
many of you are saying we go use another computer do this do that( im sure
you are) we theres more to it then that. for starters the amount of email
that comes through these doors in astranomical so it would literlly flood a
friends/or coworkers machine. the other problem many of you want credits and
so forth cause of backorder problems this again cannot be done as of today
cause no phone to transfer the funds through. then last but not least where
are located ups didnt care to pick up here. we had to fight with them just
to get one stop where we normally get 2 pick ups perday. the ups route
should be in place starting today. and many of you wanting to know where
your knife/knives are at ,well email me it may be leaveing today and i will
have tracking numbers for you as well. but back to the phone it is said they
will have it done shortly and we will be back too a normal day to day
routine except much faster this time.
thanks to all. and please dont feel we are avoiding you we just cant get to
you cause of internet access at this time.

Marc is a good man...just like his dad who I considered a good knife friend. I am sure he'll get things straight for everyone. His dad was such a gentleman.....I cannot remember how many times he told me that if there was something I liked....just take it and pay him at the next show. I never took him up on that....but what a good guy. I miss him.

First I would like to say that I looks pretty hopeful that some orders will start being delivered.

IMHO, it sounds like MJ&S did not handle this situation well at all.
  • Didn't they know when the lease was up?
  • Did they make any sort of pre-move plans with the phone company, ISP, etc.?
  • Did they ever contact customers and warn them that this move would be. happening? (especially the ones that had already placed orders)
  • Why wasn't this issue cleared up earlier?

I understand what a B**ch it is to move a business but this borders on ridiculous. I will wait to see what happens and watch this forum closely.

I have purchased from MJ&S in the past and was pleased, I am sure this issue has shocked many of us.

EXCUSE ME WHILE I WHIP THIS OUT.

Let me get this straight........

Like others, I've finally heard from Mark, and due to his inability to post and e-mail, he asked me to post this message in his behalf.

He can't "post" or "e-mail" BUT he CAN send you an "e-mail" to have posted for him?

Is he trying to fool us, or are you trying to do the fooling?

Who is buying any of this.......?????

Was it the Pony Express...?

1st, he had a family emergency.
2nd, his lease expired.
3rd, his computer would not post or e-mail.
4th, his company moved.
5th, he thinks all you will at least buy one of these stories.

Did it take 2.5 months to move? To get his computer running? To get a new lease? To fill orders that are 2.5 months past due?
