First mnandi ever! Initial impressions: I need to figure out how to get this guy open with one hand, but otherwise I really like it. I think I'm going to keep this one for a while. Much smaller than I had anticipated, but still very comfortable. Love the ivory, love the blade.

Very nice. Don't worry ... while lots of folks open their Mnandis with one hand, I never acquired the knack! With concentration and effort, I can .... but where is it written in stone that it has to be opened one-handed!!!

Dennis....best advice I've heard all day. I'm pretty spoiled flipping my users open one-handed, whether my sebenzas or ritters (with axis-lock) and found the Mnandi a little frustrating to open with one hand. I'm sure more practice would do the trick, but why bother. How hard is it to use two hands!

Great looking knife! I'm glad to hear you're liking it.

My trick to getting them open with one hand is to pinch the blade with my thumb and middle finger while using my pinky and ring finger to pull down on the belt clip. Once it is slightly open, at roughly 30°, I grasp the body with my pinky, ring finger, and middle finger while using my index finger and thumb to complete the motion.

Too many Mnandi's. I finally got 3 back from CRK and can take a group shot. I will have to let some of these go however.
I reached saturation :p

Very nice ..... but too bad you not "letting go" the first or second one in your line-up!!!!

Quick update.. I love this knife. This is the first one I've ever had and I like it so much now I'm on the prowl for an ebony one to give me some dark contrast to this ivory mammoth one..

This is why you don't often see Mammoth Mnandis (bark or ivory) traded or sold to another. They are usually the ones we aren't sure about at first, that eventually turn into our favorites. You have to give them a little time....

I recently let go of a stunning bark.....it just didn't do it for me. On the same day I picked up a rather plain looking bark with ladder Damascus that sat on a dealers site for several months. I opened the box today and couldn't believe how much I liked it. Many times knives don't translate as well in person as they do in photos. Other times is quite the opposite.

This is the folder of my dreams and if you ever decided to part with it, I'd be willing to take out a mortgage to pay for it. This Mnandi is the most beautiful folder I have ever seen to date. Love how the blue Damascus is married to that incredible mommath ivory. Thank You for taking and sharing this photo Fooj and maybe one day you can make my dream come true:D

Old knife, new photo.

WOAH! awesome looking mnandi there! the blued damascus is interesting! the mammoth is just...WOAH!

Since we are on a roll here ... it took 5 months to complete ..... but just got my snakewood Mnandi from CRK today. Man ..... was I sweating bullets. Not because of the wait .... but because I ordered one to be made sight unseen! As we all know ...... not all wood looks the same! I was hoping for some well-figured snakewood with good coloring. Man did I luck out (well, at least IMO)! It is just what I hoped for. Anyway ...... the pics:
