Mnandi: My latest Obsession

Can't wait to see pics from all those that scored on the Bay last night. I watched them all to the end but didn't play because of Blade next week. Definately some of the best CRK's I've seen at auction in awhile. Congrats to those that pulled the trigger.
 
That camel thorn damascus was sweet. Had I not had some other CRK inbound, I would have tried on it as well, though it did go pretty high.....lol.

Well, I am hoping that it looks as good as in the original retailer pic that was shown! And, while I was hoping I could snag it for a lower price ..... all considered, it wasn't over the top. Definitely more than it cost back in 2004, however, considering that today, a new Mnandi with Damascus will run $540 .... the final bid was within reason, considering that Camel Thorn was considered a premium inlay when offered. I am still wondering if anyone here got the Snakewood/Snakeskin. Would love to see better pics of that one.

d.r.h....you snagged that one right at the end from me!!!! I thought I had it and then just as it closed I was outbid.....damn!! Nice snag though, that one really has it all.

Please don't hate me!!! It's happened to us all (and to me more than I care to think about!!). Had been watching this one since it was first listed, removed, and then re-listed!

I was watching it too, the first time it was listed then when relisted. Lucky for you, I had to go to work and the auction ended after starting time....lol. I am glad you got it though. Fellow PA Guys gotta stick together.....!!! Honestly, I don't think I would have bid that high, but ya never know in the heat of the bidding battle. I will say thats the nicest camel thorn I have ever seen though and adding damascus to it just makes it even more tempting.

No hate here brother!! From one former Pa guy...central....to another, good snag. I agree with nyefmaker that the addition of the damascus to that beautiful camel thorn really worked for me.....maybe next time!
 
Are those who bought a Mnandi Mammoth Ivory/Bark with damascus at the average price happy with their purchase or are they experiencing a tinge of buyer's remorse?

Not sure why you're asking, but I'll bite. I own two with two more on the way and there isn't a twinge of buyers remorse. I love these knives and find them to be every bit as useful as knives many times their size.....and you get a smaller package to carry and a beautiful work of art all wrapped in the same package. I'm also not one who lets these knives sit in the safe.....my mammoth Mnandis ride in custom leather slip-sheaths and ride in my pockets just as the other, more regular, versions do and get used for the same, every-day tasks too. I was hesitant to buy the first Mnandi, but now I'd recommend them to anyone.....and I'm a convert from the arena of very big folders for edc.
 
I only have one and I can't even remember how much I payed for it. :p The knife was picked up at the Blade show and then I sent it into CRK for a damascus blade.

Very nice! I have always been partial to your Black Dyed Amboyna with the Zebra Damascus.
