Modified Production Knives (traditional only)

You made those?

They look great, Fes!

Not much of a modification but I rounded off the top of the coping blade so its not noticeable when using the clip and smoothed the cut swedge on the clip just a bit so its less pointy.

Sorry for the crappy pic.

Thanks Sitflyer. Its a 370BB ,or it was. Has a mirror polish ,prob should of wiped the wax off before i took the picture.

Love those Svords & thought about doing the same myself.
So far though the only mod I've done to a slip joint was made a clip point out of a VIC Classic pen blade.

hope to one day do work on par with glens but for now I'm pretty proud to carry these guys in my pocket old case CV trapper liner less g10 with stainless pins and shield. And imperial Barlow with slightly shortened springs and paper micarta liner less construction and stainless pins

Here's an old Case 99 that gassed out on me. I took the funky celluloid scales off and put Montana Mule Deer covers and a heraldic shield for fun. My first attempt at re-handling a folder. It came out OK, but I had a little trouble mortising for the shield.

Hey cutty what did you use for liners on that knife? Or were you able to just pull off the shell handles and glue the scales on without unpinning it.

Yeah, I just removed enough material on the underside of the bone to accept the pins (just made small notches) and glued them right on. The scales fit tight and solid.

can't pass that by without comment

love the scales, makes what is a classy knife look first rate

would love to have a Case sodbuster made up in those clothes

I love the look of that mule deer, Barry! Very nice job. Shields can be tough if you do not have templates.

Cutty, that amber worm groove gives that knife such a cool look. Like it a lot!

I had this Remington done in some amber bone and I think it turned out purity nice.1123

Half of an old colonial forest master.Red linen micarta handles stainless pins sorta half liner made from aluminum was necessary to make room for the blades. The original had something similar made of steel.

Well, I finally couldn't wait any longer for GEC to bring out the Eureka with a clip main, so I ordered a spear and reground the main into a clip blade.
As only my second regrind, I'm pretty happy with the results. The start of the swedges ain't perfect, but I'm happy!

I also took the little "peak" off the coping blade, making it more of a sheepfoot. Just a little smoother.
