Modified Production Knives (traditional only)

Unfortunately, none of my own. It came in the mail today, I opened the tube and started grinding. Took about 90 minutes, including the sanding and polishing.

Here is Bill510c's, same knife, that he posted a few days ago.

Nice work on that Svord Peasant!

Pretty simple mod with my 31048CV slimline trapper. I always wished it had a half-stop, and I noticed the cam stuck out a bit past the spring (unlike most slipjoints I have), so I figured it might work to file a flat spot. Works pretty well. It's pretty positive at the half position; not quite as "crisp" as a factory half-stop, but it's smooth, it definitely stops halfway, and now I like this knife even more.

I showed this photo the other day, then realized I'd never finished the job. It worked, though looked like it'd been chewed on by a squirrel.

A little more file work and some buffing and it now looks better and will hang on a bottle cap.

Still took three tries to open, but took hunks out of the cap trying. Steel caps seem like they hung together better... ah the good ol' days!

Great work on all these mods. I get all motivated to do some work on my own blades........then my hopes and dreams come crashing down when I find out that I still have no artistic, or mechanical abilities. I can sharpen the living-f&*K out of a blade though. Keeps the pics coming!

Been getting caught up on a few projects lately, so I thought I would share...

Hammer Brand "whittler" in Amber CSB. Before...

This one was the customer's Grandfather's knife. He wanted to spiffy it up, but keep the age. The knife itself had a noticable warp to it. Someone must have carried it in a back pocket or something. Here's a before pic.

I straightened things out and put some Linen micarta covers on. I left the blades as-is. The customer is going to give it to his father.
