Wow, look at that. What woods did you redress those to forum knives in?
They’re both jobillo or tiger wood. It was one of the options that was voted down that someone really wanted to have, and pretty soon they will.

That’s cool and a good way to get what they really wanted. They’re both jobillo or tiger wood. It was one of the options that was voted down that someone really wanted to have, and pretty soon they will.

I vote for jobillo! Nice wood, nice work.![]()
Thanks guys, I agree the wood choice was a good one, lots of chatoyance and character on some of the pieces.very nice work and choice of wood on both knives![]()
very nice work... I have never seen that wood before. I like it a lot, judging those two samples. Does the wood darken a lot with use, I wonder?
It looks like it does but I’ve not used this wood before. I’ve looked up every wood I’ve used on this site and more, some say they darken and some don’t buy it seems to me that most or all of the ones I’ve used darken whether they say they do or not, maybe just from the dirt and oil’s getting deposited on the surface.very nice work... Ah...! So it's the same as Goncalo Alves.... that's the wood that Smith and Wesson used for grips on their revolvers for quite some time... maybe still do. It's a pretty wood. I don't remember anyone saying anything about their revolver handles darkening appreciably, so maybe it resists it better than cocobolo or rosewood. Good information... thanks. It looks like it does but I’ve not used this wood before. Now you have the biggest beer scout on the block! Great job with that....
I just hope mine stays the test of time, I did the heat treat with my flamethrower weed killer thing and tempered it in the oven. I’ve done it a couple times before and it seems to work pretty well. I was concerned about it getting hot enough under where I was holding with the pliers but it got so hot it dented the metal on both sides and the file skated even there so I think it’s good to go (I hope). Now you have the biggest beer scout on the block! Great job with that....
This old Queen of mine (bottom knife) might give it a run for its money, but the 86 is probably bigger...

YES! I like that a lot more. Looks way more ergonomic, and the red has some character now. Good job!![]()

Boker one arm jack as I bought it, covers more squarish than I like, and didn't like the color.
I mean why buy it if I didn't like some of its features?

To modify it of course!
Rounded the edges and ends more with a file, sanded with 800 grit emory paper, and a few dunks in hot dark brown rit dye. I still wanted it to be red, just a darker more interesting red![]()
