Modified Production Knives (traditional only)

That's an awesome mod adding the EO. Did you do that youself Paul?

Added the EO groove and turned the pen into a coping blade, was going to locate the EO in the same place as my 2011 Forum knife but I have a vintage four line Camillus that has the EO butt up to the rear bolster that I really like, so I placed the EO there.

Another serpentine jack from queen, belongs to a friend, the edge it had what it came was..well, let's say it wasn't..
It's far from perfect as it is now, but it works, and some patina will cover the imperfections in time. At least it slices now.

Thanks Glenn, a compliment from you inspires me to attempt more involved projects:thumbup:

It's people like you that inspire me to make these mods:thumbup:

:o Thanks, it's humbling to hear that. I'm just "a guy", but I'm glad I can inspire people to try this. It's fun and rewarding!

Thanks sugarleaf, I apologize as I didn't see your post until now. I did do the mod myself with a sanding drum on my dremel and followed up by using high grit wet/dry sandpaper to finish it up a bit.

Nice work! Would love to try that, but scared I would mess it up. I might just give it a try on a old kutmaster and see how it turns out. Yours turned out great, thanks for sharing!

You can do it! Just mask off the areas you don't want to remove, and go slow. I did the same mod on my 85, and was surprised at how well it went. Just remember to take your time, because while the material is removed easily, putting it back on is the tough part... ;)

Will give it a shot, thanks Dan! Any suggestions on what dremel attachment should be used?

Good call LR, will check that out, thanks for the suggestion!

If you want to practice on an inexpensive knife, this Colt is a good one.

I used a sanding drum, which does chew through the liner and not so fast where you need to worry about removing material too quickly. I also have some emory abrasive attachments for smoothing edges.

Looking good, Leadchop. Looks pretty factory to me!

Yup, same here. I actually roughed it out with a file first, then went at it and smoothed it all out with a sanding drum on a slow speed dremel.

Couldn't find an easy open 85 so I made one! Also chopped the pen blade down to a coping blade!

Nice work! Looks familiar...
