Probably not to the taste of the "traditional" crowd but oh well, here we go:
Please be nice as this is only my second attempt at modding.
All work was done with a dremel, file, sanding sponge and no plan.
Started working on it last night after the wife and kids went to sleep. It was done by the time they woke up :D

Fantastic mod of the Opinel, Funk!! It looks great!:thumbup:
Is there a functional reason for the cut-out you put at the base of the blade?
Very cool!!

A post has been moved offline. Please post and discuss traditional knives only.

I have been building some lockbacks from a pile of Schrade parts I bought. The top one is a 7OT blade and frame I scaled with some gorgeous padauk wood. I love the vibrant color on this one.

The bottom is a 6OT frame with a 7OT blade, which I scaled in some olive wood harvested from my own trees. I finished it in some tung oil finish, which really made the grain pop. I also serrated half the blade so I can use it hard in the yard.

I really love building/modding knives from these US made parts.

And it shows!! Fantastic work, as usual; that olive wood is awesome!

Awesome and inspiring!

Wow, there are some great examples of people doing fabulous work on this thread! I stand in awe of you all!

My own "mod" is certainly modest in comparison - I think tweaking a blade is fairly easy. I like having a sheepsfoot/wharncliffe/coping blade on my knife in addition to a clip blade. I also like having both nail nicks on the mark side of a knife. Anyway, a while back I got this GEC #76 with the intention of converting the pen blade to a coping blade and I finally got around to doing it yesterday.

Here's the before and after pics:

Thank's for the kind words, Jeff & Paul!

I just spent 2 1/2 hours going through this entire thread and what a pleasure it was! I'm blown away by the work done by our members, and as I said before I stand in awe!

Paul, that was nice work on the Bullet End Jack making the EO notch and coping blade mod - it turned out great!

Jeff, you had a few posts upthread too, and I salute you also for the great mods! Waaaay back on page 21, post #420 you had some pics of a mod you did on a #73 Scout Trapper, but the pics aren't showing up anymore. Any chance you could re-post those pics? :D
