Modified Production Knives (traditional only)

But where will Duncan sit ?:D

He's driving:eek::eek::eek: On the wrong side of the road no doubt:o

And....in the spirit of this thread, here's an EO I did for a fellow member. I now want this very knife. I was shipped a Single blade in a mis-marked Tube and sent it back for the two blade Gabon Boy's knife.

As popular as these Boy's knives are I woulda, shoulda kept the one I first rec'd:(

Good job Paul! I want one like that. Looks like it came from the factory. I can feel in my minds eye how sweet the pinch.

Thanks Luger, I appreciate your comments:thumbup: I told the owner that this was my first EO notch in a Steel liner---what an obvious difference versus the ones I've done with Brass liners:o

The "pinch-ability" was sweet:cool:

Great job on that 15 Paul - it looks factory great. Maybe we can trade EO modification info to Charlow acquisition info.:D

Duncan is driving on the wrong side of the road ?:eek::eek::o That would be a fun day with the four of us hunting down knives. Maybe we need OW to keep the ship afloat. ;):D

Oh boy the pictures that just popped into my head Primble:thumbup:

I would hope Stephen would be the calming logical one but you never know, with him as navigator we could end up in Tijuana:eek:

Mark would then have to put in a call to Ryan aka 556 Hunter to get us back safely across the border;):D

I think there's a book in there somewhere:):o

You did a great job on this one, Paul! EOs are really your thing my friend. I need to get you to do one for me someday.

I like that EO you did, Paul. Looks great!

Here's one I did a little while back. It has turned pretty much into my EDC.

Another "top-notch" EO mod, Paul! :p

Superb transformation, Glenn! Wow! :thumbup::thumbup:
I recently got this Colonial from davek14; haven't even had a chance to clean it up yet, but after seeing what you did, I'm afraid visions of stag covers will be dancing through my head. :D:D

Thanks. There's no denying that stag looks good on most knives.

Perry, Gary and Glenn, thank you guys for the compliment.

Glenn, BEAUTIFUL work:thumbup:

That is an interesting Buck mod. I assume that is for a precise grip with the index finger? Cool!

Thanks Glennbad.
The first grind out on the blade is a sharpening choil allowing the user to sharpen the blade all the way to the kick.
Like you said, the bolster grind allows for a higher grip towards the blade for control.
The main goal of this mod exercise was to address a smoother transition from bolster to blade for better ergonomics and smoother aesthetic.

I'm really considering putting an EO notch on my 2014 forum knife. I know people discussed putting an EO on a clip point #77 barlow and the consensus was against it, but I really think I'd carry and use it more if it was easier to open. Do you much more experienced modders have any thoughts on that?

It's your knife and your choice regardless of what others think. If you do it, keep it more shallow than you would on a sheepsfoot and I would place it where Paul Hilborn did on his Northfield......not too close to the end bolster where the tip of the blade folds in.

My two cents.

This is the EO I put on one of my forum knives...

Thank you for bringing my attention to his mod, and your input. I appreciate it.

That looks like pretty much what I was thinking! Thanks a lot for the pictures, they help immensely. Did you use a sanding wheel on a dremel tool?
