Here's a Hinderer XM-18 converted to a ffg pretty much, 60 grit finish at about .010" thick at 15 dps finished on the Wicked Edge

And here's a ZT 0620 which used to be a tanto, converted to a more conventional grind:

And finally, a Benchmade 810 converted to a bowie grind and Cerakoted. What's cool about this one is that I could sharpen the part of the spine that was seated in the scales!

This is a frequent problem w/ Striders... Tip getting way too wide. Reground and refinished...

I want to thank Josh for modifying my ZT 0620...He did all the blade mods I asked for, and the knife is super sharp now! Pics will follow in a bit...

I highly recommend Josh, he's patient and communicative with his customers, great customer service and truly a skilled craftsman....

I want to share my satisfaction with Josh's sharpening service. Great communication, fast turnaround, and a knife that's laser sharp.

My favorite part? The complimentary confetti. Who knows when you need some, right? [emoji38]

Awesome pics....... Fantastic work. I have some questions about the cerakote. I apologize if this has been covered in this thread, I didn't read all 21 pages. Anyway, from my understanding, this is a ceramic coating that is baked on? What temp is the baking done at and for how long? Is there any possibility of damage to the heat treatment of the steels?

Thanks,

Thanks,

NIC Industries (i.e. the manufacturers of Cerakote) make two versions of Cerakote... the C Series (i.e. air dry) and the H Series. They admittedly state "H-Series is the most durable of the standard Cerakote™ product and provides the best performance in hardness, wear, scratch resistance, adhesion and rust resistance. It can withstand temperatures up to 400 degrees F and comes in over 60 colors. " But yes, it is a Ceramic based paint basically. It does wear, as any coating will, but will not chip and has great corrosion resistance.

The thermal cycle is done at 250F for 2 hours, which is lower than any temper cycle that I know of so there is not any risk of temper damage during the Cerakote application. Sorry it took me a bit to get back w/ you! I meant to respond but forgot!

Do you have any experience with a nightmare grind and if so would your price for a reprofile be the same for a nightmare grind?
